In order from most annoying to least, these are the problems I’ve had when loading Hearthstone the last few weeks using the latest version of Windows as of the date of this post.
- Unable to interact with the End Turn button: When I enter a game in either play mode or tavern brawl as any class, the End Turn Button ceases to function. I can play all of my cards, emote, and use my hero power just fine, and I can tell the other person is still connected because they will hover over my face, my hero power, and emote. The end turn button will either remain yellow and not respond when clicked on, or remain inactive and read “Enemy’s Turn.” My turn cannot end until the rope burns all the way through, making a game last 4x as long as it should. This bug has so far nearly always correlates with #2, below.
- The start turn card draw mechanic acts strangely. I hear the sounds associated with the start of my turn, but also hear the sound normally generated when a card is burned. I get a new card in my hand, but the smooth animation of the card leaving my deck is skipped. The card kind of “comes out of hyperspace” in my hand and seems to indicate that the End Turn Button issue listed in #1 above has now begun.
This is how it feels when the card glitch happens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BXTUOxbgpw
The game I’m in is the Rebel Fleet, and the glitch is Darth Vader’s Star Destroyer.
My only resolution is to manually close the program, which makes my game disappear in all of the record keeping apps I’ve run alongside hearthstone, such as Deck Tracker or White Wolf’s Firestone. - Unrelated to #1 and #2 above, when I first loaded Hearthstone today, the first day of the August 2020 season, I didn’t see the usual breakdown of my progress. After ending Hearthstone the first time because of the above issues and restarting the game, my July 2020 season rewards did come up. However, the packs I’d earned for the upcoming expansion that were locked until August had disappeared. On my third try, the Play button wouldn’t respond after being clicked on repeatedly. Eventually, it sent me into a Tavern Brawl, which wasn’t something I’d clicked on, but I gave it a shot. The same glitch happened, so I quit the game, and am now going to play Starcraft 2 instead for today after investing almost 30 minutes without getting into a functional game of Hearthstone.
Help me, Blizzard Technical Support, you are my only hope!
