Great combo… but…?
Normally… I have the humble blessings which sets all my minion costs at 3. The Emerald goggles reduces the left most card by 2. So any minion in the left most slot costs 1.
And it works that way… except for… the first time.
Lets say I have a 10 mana minion as my left most.
Reduces down to 8 mana from the goggles.
I play the Humble Blessings and my left most gets set at 3. The goggles appear to lose its effect.
After I play that one for 3, the rest in the left most cost 1. Its just that initial that I believe is wrong.
Not a bug. Both effects are aura effects, and aura effects depend on the order in which they are applied.
Immediately before you play humble blessings, your left-most minion costs 2 less due to the aura effect of emerald goggles. Once you play humble blessings, its effect comes into play on the left-most minion. Because it is the more recent aura to start affecting that minion, it sets the cost of that minion to 3 after the emerald goggles cost reduction.
At this point, your left-most minion has aura effects on it in this order:
- Emerald goggles
- Humble blessings
So it’s cost is first reduced by 2 and then set to 3, which essentially renders the cost reduction moot.
Every other card in your hand now has humble blessings affecting it. If you play the left-most card in your hand, the effect of emerald goggles will be re-applied to the new left-most card in your hand. This card (if it’s a minion) was already being affected by humble blessings before this, so emerald goggles becomes the second aura effect to act on it instead of the first. The order of effects is now:
- Humble blessings
- Emerald goggles
So its cost is set to 3, then reduced by 2.
Emerald goggles continues to be re-applied whenever the leftmost card in your hand changes, so it stays this way for the rest of the game.
