Elusive, just not always

Elusive still doesn’t count for Locations

This has been mentioned before, either as a bug report or not, but seeing as we’re now on 30.0.3 and this is ongoing, I figured I’d share once more.

[Crimson Expanse] can be used on a (friendly) damaged [Zilliax Deluxe 3000]

If [Speaker Stomper] was played by the opponent, [Crimson Expanse] costs (6).
So what is it? Either it’s a spell… So it then works & reacts like a spell,
or:

make the proper adjustments.

Tradeable
Battlecry: Enemy spells AND LOCATIONS
cost (2) more next turn.

You cast a spell to create a location. Using a location is not casting a spell. Elusive only prevents targeting with spells.

Do you have a replay or screenshot to share about that ?
Testing it on my side and locations’ cost are not increased by Speaker Stomper

Sound logical enough. Still feels like it’s somehow just not yet a finished product.

Sorry, can’t reproduce it alone and no screenshots were taken of the moment. That’s my bad.
I still have to submit 2 more bug reports, in which I will include screenshots,
as it helps prevent possibly unnessesary back and forth

I don’t know what they were trying to explain but locations are not summoned by spells.
Just as weapons and heroes they are a different type of cards that shouldn’t be affected at all by spell-synergy/counter effects

Elusive only prevents the player to select an elusive character as a target for a spell or hero power they are directly playing, or prevent the minion from being the target of a random spell.
If the target is for another type of card, or if the target is chosen indirectly, elusive is either not applicable or can be bypassed

Elven archer is a minion. Elusive is not applicable as the card is not a spell. Its battlecry can deal 1 damage to an elusive character.
Same logic goes for locations. They are not spells. Elusive is not applicable.

Deadly shot is a spell. It destroys an ennemy minion at random. Elusive is not applicable as the card doesn’t require the player to select a target. It can destroy an elusive minion.

Cast a random spell. It randomize to arcane shot. Arcane shot tries to select a valid target. In that instance elusive is applicable, arcane shot will never target an elusive minion and select another target. If there’s no valid target, the spell will do nothing.

Teach arcane shot to a nagaling. Nagaling is a minion. It will cast a targetted spell. Elusive does not prevent the player from targetting an elusive minion with nagaling’s battlecry. Nagaling’s battlecry will lock on the selected minion, even if it has elusive. Arcane shot will be cast on the elusive minion.

(that last case I’m not sure since they changed that behavior so I may describe the old version)

I’m guessing that was a coincidence, and the cost increase on Crimson Expanse was due to some other effect.

To me - locations are simply location’s.

They’re their own type of card.

If my opponent had a location down and i played something with Elusive… I wouldn’t be annoyed or suprised if the location effected it, the same way that if anything else that was on the board i.e. a minion effected my minion with Elusive.

Also seems pretty niche.
