I’m not sure if perhaps it just falls to me not playing them correctly and not watching people like Kripp play more of them but even he, I think, shys away from the tribe in BGs.
They feel like all their trinkets also do not help them ramp appropriately. Part of it comes I feel from Flourishing Frostling’s trinket being greater, to the lack of real ramp potential Elementals have even with Living Azerite. There’s no good combo for Living Azerite to help your spells spam with the same amount of ramp that helps meet Dragons, or Quilboar (The ramp kings, if I’m honest).
But this was just a quick mention.
Frostling is really a trap ramp wise. With double greater ramp trinkets you can easily get a +400/+400 board by the time you win if the lobbies are somewhat even. Obviously you need to survive till then, so most people go living azerite for lesser, which is better than lesser ramp trinket. If you get double azerite, that can also get you high numbers, especially with a couple pirate elementals on your board.
It’s not that elementals are weak. It’s that in order to play them you have to have really good APM to even try to keep up with other tribes that scale with far far less effort. If certain other tribes had to cycle like a fiend as most elemental comps do it wouldn’t be an issue.
The only thing keeping some parity is having Murlocs in a lobby playing all scam.
