Just make it “That didn’t start in your deck”. That’s it. That’s all the singular card needs to be nerfed to solve most of this mage issue right now.
Clearly Rogue still has this “not your class” archetype which is what I’m assuming the initial use of this card is for, of course, but the point that it’s so abusable that even if Sunset or Tsunami are played at natural mana costs, you can replay them for 4 is rather asinine.
There you go blizzard, that one’s for free, I don’t expect a thank you, but man am I sick of Conman Mage.

Absolutely agree! That simple change—“That didn’t start in your deck”—could really help fix the current issue with Mage. It’s a straightforward solution that preserves the card’s original design without making it so exploitable. As you pointed out, even if cards like Sunset or Tsunami are played at their natural mana costs, the fact that they can be replayed for just 4 mana feels completely broken.
It’s frustrating when one class can consistently pull off those kinds of ridiculous plays, especially when it wasn’t the card’s original intent. This change would still allow for creative plays within reason, while cutting down on the overpowered combos that make the game less enjoyable for everyone else.
Hopefully Blizzard takes note, because it’s definitely time for a nerf. Great call!
Then the card is literally unplayable.
And with literally unplayable i really mean it because the entire rogue kit not sees play in rogue exactly for that specific reason.

The problem is Tsunami and Skyla. They should nerf Tsunami by lowering the Elemental count or rework Skyla to make she work by evening out the cost of the higher cost spell between it and the lowest cost spell. So Tsunami on 6, with it costing 4, for example.
So a regular Mage nerf , sounds legit to me.
My only solace in such a nerf is that Paladin gets hit as well.
Other reason why it will not be nerf.
Paladin nerfs LOL.

They will nerf Skyla. Almost for sure going to 6 mana.
I dislike Conman but if you can’t utilize it until later, it’s less problematic.
Does Conman limit design space for big mana cheats like Skyla or does Skyla limit design space for cards like Conman?
Seems to me like Conman’s existence means that mana cheats for classes that can use it have to be balanced around being repeated by Conman.
It’s not rogue that’s the problem here, it’s Mage. And not every card is going to be usable, and if that nerf did ruin it, then I’m sorry, so be it. Spell mage has been working just fine.
In general you’ll find that Mana cheat breaks a whole lot of things other than just Conman. He’s just an obvious example of how it can be dangerous.

Lol that “nerf” is a joke. Stalling the Tourist one more turn is not the problem here, Blizzard.
best way to see how to beat a deck is to play it, and see what you cant beat
