I’m torn. The meta we had just before this event was diverse and balanced, and great from a competitive standpoint. However, I’m really loving the nostalgia of seeing Deathknights and setting up/playing around cards like Defile and Spreading Plague.
Its a shame most of the cards are not strong enough to be impactful. I’m super sad that the Imp package is basically mandatory in any Warlock list and it seriously messes with Bloodreaver Gul’Dan (also the demon support for Warlock in standard is non-existent), and that the Deathknight cards in general just don’t stack up against what we have at our disposal now.
I’m having fun for now, but I don’t like how underwhelming the cards feel now - its barely worth playing the majority of them. I think all we’ve achieved from a competitive standpoint is made Ramp Druid way more powerful and reintroduced a really uninteresting Priest deck.
All that said, I have only had time to very briefly look over the cards again so there are probably a few great synergies that I’ve missed. Hopefully some cool new archetypes come out of the event.
For me it´s sadly just the same old you get a good game until Denathrius ends it.
Really kinda the worst card ever printed in hind sight. Really needed some further restrictions instead of being free to plug into everything.
I’ve been off standard since United in Stormwind. The requirement to craft all the quests (except DH, which alas was my freebie) really angered me. Maybe the pool has broadened now, and you don’t need all quests to enjoy all classes?
The quests were different from past “power legendaries” in that they are dealt to you right at the start, so there’s zero chance that they just won’t be seen.
Implock just spams the board constantly. If Blizzard didn’t push every class having board clears and rewarding stalling until 10 mana you wouldn’t see the “counter” that is implock. It’s nothing but turbo aggro, miracle rogue combo, or stall/ clear “I win” card.
Wrong. Aggro is very abundant. You stated in another thread it’s dead. This couldn’t be more far from the truth. As Melphina points out here:
And he needs to tell that to Aggro Druid, Aggro Demon Hunter, and possibly even Enrage Warrior.
That’s the literal definition of a board based deck…something you said doesn’t exist or is irrelevant. I’m not convinced you even know what’s going on in the meta with such claims. Aggro Druid, Enrage Warrior, Aggro Demon Hunter, Imp lock, all at the top of the meta, do nothing but spam the board, buff it and kill you asap.
Now you’re saying "
and yet at the same time in another thread you said
