Good point I totally missed this.
Remove Windfury from Ignis, first of all.
Then rotate Heavy Plate out of Core.
If that’s not enough, revert Craftsman’s Hammer to its original state.
Odyn is a fine win condition that is only as good as the available armor cards, and is inflated by Windfury Ignis weapons. If you kill Odyn then slow Warrior can happily return to BRnR while still using the new control cards that it desperately needed when Year of the Wolf started.
(Reminder that slow/control Warrior has had powerful win conditions since MotLK but lacked control tools to actually survive for all of FoL until TITANS.)
Can you give me a link to where such a thing was said? I simply have a hard time believing a company would make such a statement. Though i agree with you thats its worrying if true.
my guess would go to only making the first instance of armorgain of a given turn count.
I think if they did it like they did Sire it would work out okay - 1 attack per 2 armor.
The idea behind it is good, but armor is just too easy to stack in the game and when you add in a windfury weapon, it’s waaaay too much.
I really don’t like games where the inevitability is literally “you have to kill them before they play this card or you lose” and that means you have like an 8 or 9 turn clock and it’s done.
Part of the fun was value back and forth, thinking about what was coming and playing around it, and knowing how to use your resources at the correct points. That’s not really a thing in a world where someone just stalls until they can otk you before turn 10. Boring games, bad design.
Okay i think it’s time to call it now.
This patch is bad.
I not disputing nerfing druid /yogg/ whatever but how it was done.
Basically they nuked 2 cards and nerfed 2 cards from a class who was already getting their decks deleted from the meta on top of that.
And i really have a problem with someone trying to justify this patch because we basically killed 2 decks to no real gain metagame wise.
Again it’s not that blizzard should not do something about it.
It’s Just that they dropped the ball really hard and we are past the time from justifying deck nuking nerfs.
That and blizzard should learn to early rotate earlier cards that go as wrong as prison breaker.
Now we basically have a completely junk of a useless card that could have been just rotated out of standard for similar effect as that nerf.
Without even saying that many players like spell based decks and apparently now we can’t have support for they anymore.
That yogg was many things including overpowered but even at that state it was more fun for everyone than that joke of a card he was transformed into.
This is how bad half assed redesigns are.
They could atleast made a decent refesign like tony got.
Cards like odyn (yes i realize enrage is netter atm), and sif are what i assume you talking about where ya just have a limit and thens ifs over. Sif is way worse than odyn. At least odyn you can put up some taunts. Sif, reverb, arcane bolts and flame geysers is super hard to out armor. And you see it coming a million miles away and unless ya tech against it you are screwed. Thats what sucks abiut tech carfs, they weaken your deck si much versus other decks.
It was already a spell based meta well before the mini set and prison breaker/yogg. Spell decks dont need any more support.
The patch sucks because it didnt fix whats really broken and thats the obscene amount of from hand damage via spells/weapons/odyns&sifs oh my.
The only real minion based decks in the game right now are kill em with a giant ever increasing mech on turn 4, or mana cheat out a billion mana with thaddius warlock / whatever druid is doing now.
None of it really leads to interesting gameplay in my opinion.
Reduce the damage from hand in a freaking CW meta.
Genius.
The meta is not even more broken exactly because of that.
I was chatting with a friend who also plays HS yesterday, and told him to look at the history of big card nerfs over the past year to see what they have in common. Sire nerf, Brann shenanigans, Jailer/Tony abuse…now which class was the one that was actually able to do it the easiest? Druid. Why doesn’t Blizzard actually change the way druid works to be less reliant on Ramp? Or to have less mana cheating. That class has so many cheap little cards that can reduce the cost of other cards now too. Blizzard took face damage spells from Standard Priest because they felt it was too much. Why can’t they come to the same conclusion with druid’s disgusting ramp? Now I’m seeing them play a bunch of 0 cost Nature spells to summon a board of 3/3 rush drakes, then double buff them all up or just give them the deathrattle that summons a bunch of 2/2s if you happen to clear them. Ramp will continue to be an issue as long as it exists, and frankly, the mana-cheating in this game is beyond ridiculous and that doesn’t apply only to druid. I know other classes also abused both Sire and Astalor coughroguecough, but druid was the most blatant about it and had better tools to do it with.
Bro you can make a wall of 7x10hp taunts, and see the warrior proceed to both board clear it AND still smack you in the face for 20+ damage. Taunts don’t help.
There’s more cards needs to be nerfed, mainly warlock cards, like Forge of wills, The 6/12 titan THAT SHOULD NOT BE 6/12 because of the portal that generates infinite demons and should not have powers like wipe the board and other types of horsecrap cards which blizzard forgets about the interactions with. IT costs death knight a MINION to generate one with stats but WARLOCKS Get it for frees on turn 3. FORGE OF Wills should be a legendary card that has a real high cost.
The reason why they won’t nerf because they want you to fork out the dollars for the cards and if they nerf the titan cards such as Sagerus (Serious a titan that generates infinite demons and can do all sorts of shaengians). Forge of Wills is a great example of a CARD that should be nerfed. As that location is full of it, generating a free body for no cost that’s essentially a clone spell is not on. You can go back in history and find spells that do exactly that
You got me there, unless you have forced em tk use both sanitizes through early pressure. A lot of games i play they use up their sanitizes. But i like stuff like wandering monster is playing secret rogue, it is kinda fumny to see em concede after double 8 armor spell and the 5 armor spell hit a wandering monster
That would have just made the card MORE of a rogue and druid card… rather than opening it up to be used in more classes. The card will probably find a place somewhere, it’s still really solid.
I like these changes. I think there’s also potential to make Odyn give attack instead of armor. Like, more all-in-y.
This game is a pathetic shell of the prestigious and honorable game it once was. It’s complete dogsh!t
Ah, yes, the prestigious and honorable times of…
checks notes
Undertaker Hunter? No, that can’t be right…
flips more pages
Leeroy > Shadowstep > Leeroy > Shadowstep > Leeroy? Not that either.
digs to the first page of notes
Aha! Freeze Mage? Force of Nature + Savage Roar? Doomguard + Power Overwhelming + Power Overwhelming?
“Prestigious and honorable” is not how I’d describe this game at any point in its life.
Hey I like Rise of Shadows and Uldum.
Knights of the Frozen Throne was fun too, even with Tempo Rogue.
Scholomance was pretty good times. Even post-DH nerf Ashes of Outland wasn’t… intolerable.
At least for me the game was enjoyable before these nerfs, and now it feels awful with decks like mech rogue dominating.
Who the hell wants to play with or against mech rogue? Not me.
Whatever Blizzard was trying to achieve with these nerfs, they basically told at least one returning player to get the hell out.
Agree with ya here yellow. I probably wont make my legend run until expansion next month.
Well okay, nobody is playing mech rogue. I’ve been playing all day today, and while rogues have popped up, there’s no pure mech variant.
Everyone hopped on the Deathrattle package to highroll Thunderbringer. I even made that deck because it’s fun. But some people mixed that package with mech rogue for some early game before you summon big fat bois.
