Duplicates Question

Hello everyone,

Quick question about the duplicates in packs rule. I had two copies of the recently nerfed rare Shaman elemental, one normal, one gold. I dusted the gold after the nerf.
I just opened a pack of Stormwind and got the only other rare card which I didn’t already have two copies.
Will I get a copy of that Shaman rare next pack, or, having already had two copies of it at one point, will my rares be completely random extras from here out?

I’m fairly certain that I remember reading, when the duplicates rule first began, that the latter is what happens. I just wanted to make sure, as if not then it’d be a situation where I could just keep dusting the nerfed rare for 100 dust each time I bought a pack. That’d be pretty nice, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work like that.

Thanks for any answers!

Have a great day.

After you have all the rares in a set you start to get random ones, its the same for every rarity.

Once you’ve gotten or crafted a copy of a card, it’s counted as collected whether or not you still have those copies.

So, all your rares will be entirely random from here out.

If they had made it work the other way (i.e., automatically filling in any gaps in your collection), it would be far too easy to game the system when nerfs happened by dusting all your copies and then opening new packs to replace them and then repeating that cycle.
