Duels: Tryharding in casual

People going pirate warrior and shadow priest in casual duels. For the big wins right? For 12 wins in casual you win a whole huge grand pile of nothing! Woohoo!

So why do they do that? I cannot possibly understand the minds of these unimaginitive people. Where is the fun in this? Like, maybe playing those decks is fun when it’s new to you, but again and again?

There’s a constant supply of these players, drooling and breathing hard as they rush to win the big 12 win nothing.

Gold? You don’t get any. Exp? You get more for slower games, not faster ones. Card packs? Nope, not here. Fun? If your meaning of fun is crushing the hopes and dreams of other people who are experimenting in duels, well then, you are a scumbag and I hope your computer burns.

I’ve said my piece.

Personal take here: A good chunk of the time, I have only 1 class as a great option from all 4 choices and the other choices are meh, simply because I don’t have the collection for them.

Experimenting is fun, but it’s hard when it relies on your own collection. We see Regis doing tons of fun decks in duels, but only a select few are accessible/don’t require further investment from the average player. I craft cards for duels if I don’t have them in my collection, but only to a limit (won’t craft a legendary for a class unless it is one of the classes I play most).

You also should keep in mind that casual is a good place to experiment the strength of your decks before running them in the normal duels. People would like to know on what they are betting and the best way to know is to practice in casual.

All in all: people are more likely to pick their best classes and some practice with their best decks to prepare for normal duels, hence why it seems like people tryhard when they rlly have limited options/collection.

personally, I just concede when I’m up against decks I can’t be bothered to fight.
Which is mainly quest warlock because it’s not fun to go up against.

As much as I find the idea of playing meta stuff in modes like this lame, you’re not entitled to experiment. And heroic has a gold gate to it, so it’s not casual the same way casual is for standard.

People also go for the achievements, which can be attained by winning games with each class. Some folks do achievement hunting!
Besides, apart from the fun of playing duels, folks still like to win. There are only a handful of powerful duels decks that currently go deep. Deathrattle hunter and thief priest are two.

Imagine playing free duels, choosing warrior and not using the quest because it’s the free mode.

It makes sense that people play what they want to play: casual duels isn’t really casual, it’s more like “i don’t want to spend money in this mode”.
It isn’t meant to try bad combination of cards (or at least, I don’t see it as a sandbox or casual mode)

I’ve played duels for the only purpose of getting the achievements.

I’ve done the 12 wins on each class tryharding and once the diablo one gets fixed, I will do the very same thing.

Not sure why anyone would play duels if it’s not for the achievements. For fun ? Gimme a break.

I play duels for fun. I’ll take the achievements too. Personally, I think it’s a riot and enjoy it immensely.
