I was looking forward to this mode but i am very disapointed. Its not pay2win because of the cards you have,i can actually live with that as i can craft the cards that i want.
But to get acces to the other hero powers and some of the rewards during your run you need to first do a few quests, like collect x epics from expansion y,get x cards from expansion z and so on.
This i found very disapointing:(
Yeah, noticed it. I have a terrible card collection, but just the fact I had 3x Grommash (as well as other goodies like Rotface) + Razorgoreâs Hero Power + Scepter of Summoning got me ridiculously far.
That isnât what he is talking about. Abilities for the heroes are gated behind collection requirements. You have to own or craft the cards to access better power in the mode.
Duels isnât even out of beta yet and they already ruined it with âConstructedâ starters that everyone will just netdeck so why even bother, just give each hero an identical starter deck. This way new players donât have to own every âperfect mathematically calculated bestâ starter deck card? Oh wait, then Actizzard wont sell .08% more card packs on average. THE HORROR!
Also, why did they water down treasure cards so much? The POINT of dungeon run treasure was to be wacky and OP and game changing. That was what made it fun to build decks around. Now most of the treasure powers are â1 cost less on your FIRST SPELL ONLYâ or âGain ONE armor per minion deathâ. They almost donât even impact the match!!! Add that to the fact that a very few treasures did NOT receive the nerf hammering, and are far more powerful as a result, making getting them an almost guaranteed win early on. Examples are the spell that summons 3 tokens and then upgrades itself while going back to the deck. You can play this one TURN ONE with the spell cost power and a coin. Next time you draw you get 3 2/2s⌠then 3 3/3s with lifelink⌠and oh yeah you can never run out of cards because you can cast it every turn⌠yeah thatâs DEFINITLY balanced versus 1 armor per minion death.
TL;DR: Put the god damned treasures back to full power. No one wants perfectly balanced, they want fun and silly and OP that isnât based entirely on RNG bullsheet.
I dont understand why they made it like this, like whats the point?
If people dont meet the collection requierements they dont meet them for a reason. Are they really expecting that those people will now complete those collection requierements to play duels? Those people will just not play at all now.
The requirements are a must to complete because you lock yourself out of good rewards and options.
Not only do you not get the option offered. The option still apears in your option screen taking a (locked) slot, making it so you can not chose anything at all and are forced to pick the single one option (out of 3) that is not locked.
Then there is the netdecks, which make the first few rounds i dont know, boring?
I did netdeck in my 2 runs as well obviously lol because when playing for the first time you need some direction before you can start thinking of concepts yourself.
But in the end this gets stale quickly. A solution could be to make the first 15 cards a draft like arena. It would become more random but i would probably prefer that over the fixed decks that everyone plays now. With random decks and no collection requierements i could maybe see myself play this mode a lot more. As it is now i dont find it attractive at all.
The whole âCollect cards from old expansionâ requirement is silly. I have all the cards I want from previous expansions. Iâm 2 short from unlocking a power. I can RNG my way through the expansion and hope I unlock those through the progression system, or I can waste 1600 dust on cards I donât need.
I really donât like to be the corporate greed doomsayer, but seriously, what are people supposed to think?
you say this all the time, but I donât think it means what you think it means.
It means I donât care what else you said, because it wasnât relevant. The only relevant fact is that parts of the mode gate power behind cards that arenât relevant. This is the ultimate middle finger pay to win. There is literally zero reason that one should have to bring cards from oneâs own collection to play this mode. You arenât required to build any starting deck in the other, similar adventure modes, so why here? Oh, because they want money. Pay to win.
And where did I say âto get startedâ in anything I have written? Clearly you can suck all you want with gimped options without crafting anything. I have said pay to win, not pay to play.
And thatâs the point - you canât get the powers without the cards, and some of the requirements are just silly.
Again, maybe you donât understand that someone doesnât need to quote your entire statement to get right to the point they disagree with.
