to the ground. Playing with it is stupid. Playing against it is stupid. I should not have access to 50 mana worth of minions and spells in the space of one turn. Additionally, it’s stupid that I can gain gain 60 armour by turn 5 and still easily clear my opponents board while doing it. Then have access to two Board clears where my opponents minions don’t even die, they just get removed from the game as if they didn’t exist, then they can only play 1 minion on their turn. That is just completely unbalanced when my board can remain present, and then I can build on it the following turn.
This is idiotic and entirely absurd.
Please fix your balance of decks @Blizzard.
That is all.
I think the only deck that needs to be nerfed is the thaddius otk sludge thing. Its pretty easy to pop off on turn 5 or 6 which is way too fast for an OTK deck.
Druid is pretty boring to play against but the only thing I might change is change the 3 mana tutor card to heal health rather than gain 20 armor.
Just play aggro, it’s Blizzard’s built-in solution for any problem caused by cards that cost 5 or more mana.
/s
there are cards that cost more than 5 mana? you mean all these decks being copied and played are only half of the game? WOW what a discovery! now if only they’d balance the cards.
dew process needs a ban if they aren’t gonna rework the card. it’s always been broken while having a low mana cost. compare it to some other cards that cost the same mana and consider how much more effective it is. unfortunately the dev team seems to spend no time on balancing other than nerfing the latest obviously broken cards.
Why “to the ground”? Why not to be on par with other deck? Which, by the way, it already is.
Every time we asked a nerf on druid; we ended up buffing him in the future. Seems useless to ask for a nerf. Just complain it out.
I agree. Take away last 8 years of Druid cards and bring back Charge on Force of Nature and make Wild Growth 2 mana voila Druid is Balanced again
Because the developers have shown they have no idea how to balance druid’s identity of “card draw + ramp.” They can balance druid cards (sometimes), but the presence of neutrals means they will never be able to balance druid unless every neutral card costing 7+ mana takes into account druid can ramp to 7+ by turn 4. This is the issue with druid - neutrals allow them to circumvent class specific limitation.
You make it sound like they want to balance the class and the game.
I don’t think they are so bad at their jobs that they don’t know exactly what they are doing.
They play the game too.
Druid is what they want it to be, just like every other class.
This is why I play mostly anti aggro decks now. All I seem to play in wild is totem shaman or pirate rogue. It gets annoying to see little to no variety because of bots playing the same aggro decks.
I agree 100%. The devs have stated balance is no longer something the care about because it “restricts” their ability to design. I think they’re a combination of uninspired, apathetic, and dim.
uh anyone asking for a deck to be nerfed like that means they oppose the idea of attempting to balance decks
another made up internet quote or something completely out of context ?
Can anyone explain to me why Reno in Hearthstone is always so godawful OP? I have not played WoW in a decade, but wasn’t Reno just some goofy schmuck who just happened to have been a dragon? Every time a Reno card is printed it causes issues.
Straight from the developers:
We wanted to take this time to talk about why those changes were made and what we consider (or don’t consider) when adjusting a class like this.
There are two main considerations when we make these types of changes: 1) player enjoyment of the class (the most important consideration); and 2) how much design space the class has for us to work with.
You’ll note that “power” is not a consideration for these types of changes. We’ve seen some questions and comments about why we adjusted Paladin when the class already seems strong. The short answer is just that power isn’t relevant for class tune-ups: this is about adjusting fundamental issues with a class, not its power level.
They do not consider “power,” but “enjoyment” (i.e., “fun”). They have stated before they do not want to be restrained by balance regarding design.
From a design perspective, power is easier to adjust—we can, and frequently do, shift power by just adjusting numbers on cards. We make those power adjustments in our regular balance updates, not in class tune-ups. If Paladin ends up too strong, too weak, or too unfun in TITANS, we have lots of ways to adjust that after the fact.
didnt find the word balance and i think this bit is important too
You’re obfuscating with semantics regarding the use of the word “power” related to a class not directly impacting and relating to balance. It is spelled out in points 1 and 2 that it isn’t something they consider:
1) player enjoyment of the class (the most important consideration); and
2) how much design space the class has for us to work with.
It’s obvious this is how they approach the game. Enjoyment (i.e., fun) and design space (i.e., creativity). Balance isn’t even the third consideration as they stated:
a third reason why we might do a class tune-up, which is just “we had a sweet idea!”
So experimenting is the third. We are then left with “adjusting numbers” (i.e., balance).
Regarding “regular balance updates,” a majority feels they do too little, too late in many cases. They have shown a complete inability to simply shift numbers in the past to balance, which is why they end up resorting to banishing problem standard cards to wild, breaking the card so it serves no function, making a meaningless nerf to the card and allowing it to fester, or simply banning it (in the case of Wild problems).
if they dont care about balance like you said then why "shift power by adjusting numbers on cards "?
You’ll note that “power” is not a consideration for these types of changes.
THESE TYPES OF CHANGES. Not balance patches, but introducing (or in this case reintroducing) new cards.
As clearly indicated in what Boreas quoted, Blizzard does care about power balance when it adjusts the numbers in balance patches.
Now if you want to describe that as “fun and design space first, balance second” then okay, I guess that’s chronologically accurate. But that is NOWHERE NEAR
