Dredge/Shuffle Question

Hello all,
Quick question on mechanics:
Do cards that shuffle into your deck actually shuffle your deck? If that doesn’t make sense, basically what I’m wondering is if when a card puts something on the bottom of a deck, then something happens like shuffling in copies of another card, does that change the order of the entire deck?
Are there any other times when a deck gets shuffled? Like perhaps after searching through it with Tinkering or something like it?

Thanks for any clarity!
Have a great day!

Yes, if you dredge and then shuffle a card into your deck, you essentially remove the order for dredge into something random. If a card says “shuffle” it means your entire deck gets reordered randomly.

I like that combo.

oh
and trade doesnt shuffle so you can use it to draw the dredged card

If the card text includes the word “shuffle”, then that card shuffles the deck. Mankrik also works as a shuffle, though his text went more for narrative flavor than consistent wording.

Otherwise, cards that put things on the bottom of the deck, Tradeables, etc. don’t shuffle the deck.

Small correction: Trade draws first, then shuffles. It’s so you don’t draw the traded card with the trade.

Tradeable doesn’t shuffle at all since they changed it in patch 22.2:

  • [NEW] There was a slight tweak to how Tradeable functions under the hood, which could cause different behavior in certain situations. Tradeable now inserts the card into the deck at a random location, then draws a different card. (Previously, it was put on the bottom of the deck first, then the draw occurred, and then finally a shuffle happened.)
