Just played against a druid who used doomkin 3 times since then i had 5 mana he had 13 and i got otk with 16dmg swipe only one swipe.
How can i counter this ? Is this even counterable ??
From my experience it shouldn’t even be possible for a player to do that kind of stuff.
This and many more crazy stuff belong to wild decks not in standard.
I could counter this if i only delete the game actually .
Counter 1: don’t use mana (not really an option but hey it’s a counter)
Counter 2: Puppet Theatre the Doomkin, steal your mana back!
Counter 3: Puppet Theatre the Doomkin, Pip to create 2 copies, play both to flip the script on the Druid (I just did this and its hilarious)
Yeah i can see the sarchasm here i am in the same mood but hey my friend how many times can you/we do this in a match? Like 1 in 10? Maybe less?
You can do it quite often if you mulligan for Puppet Theatre when facing Druid. It’s a fantastic card vs them because Druid ramp means there are a lot of high value cards you can target. It amazes me how many times Druids will throw down Marin the Manager knowing Puppet Theatre is there and a 1/1 1 cost copy of that is insane value.
Yes but this requires to play priest what about playing a rogue against this ?
If you concede at the beginning then you won’t lose to doomkin and mana ramping
Rogue tourist is Warlock, right? So Announce Darkness and hope you get your own Doomkins!
Or Treasure Hunter Eudora, then choose Ancient Reflections, play it on a Doomkin, return one or more (or all) back to your hand, then steal all the Druid’s mana! Can also execute a variant of this if you choose Spyglass as a reward and copy a Doomkin from their hand.
Honestly I don’t play Rogue so maybe someone like Altair knows a viable Rogue strategy.
So, how does one counter this if they choose to play the other 9 classes?
You don’t counter it if they play it. It’s essentially their “I win” card. It’s the 2nd highest played win rate card after their Titan. They play Doomkin, especially if they play it on turn 4-6, and it’s game over.
I’ve never had a single player come back and win the game once I played it on turn 5.
I wrote it above. If you see Druid, you can just concede and save yourself the trouble/wasted time. That is the “counter” lol
Actually you can just Go hyper aggro and need less mana because your card costs are low anyway.
Also the deck is powerful but isn’t unbeatable anymore even if you eat some dirt during the process to beat it.
You pretty much just have to put so much pressure on them that they can’t afford to play it. Unfortunately that limits your options.
Druid is actualy broken right now. I just watched one use ramp Doomkin copy doomkin> play again> use the 7 drop spell to get 15 armor doomkin again> zillax then > i had 5 mana could not deal with the 2x zillax and 12 mana worth of plays at 4 the round b4. Then follow up with > trogg gemtosser.
18 dmg to face > trogg = death. Just had 5 druids in a row do the exact same plays 5 opponents in a row.
I mean alot more happened but when you got 5 mana and them 13 and cards that do damage to all enemys based on mana its pretty broken.
My suggestion is make trogg gemtosser not be able to do dmg to face. Doomkin maybe the oponent has one less mana crystal the next turn only. Nerf the ramp too. Druid has too much surviveability to be able to do all that it can. This was the same problem with warrior. Druid being nerfed should bring more warriors back to the meta now. This is whats holding them back, well part of it.
Druids ramp… well i was happy when guff was gone. Honestly this tactic they doing now feels worse.
I undestand some of it is high rolly but when the exact same thing happens to you by a druid 5 games in a row…
Like I was trying to say.
Decks were not perfected and more are still comming out.
This version of druid was not seen so much b4 the patch. All the warrior players went to druid post nerf. We also have an extreamly strong might be broken op warlock deck that seems next to know play im currently running it as well.
Shama has a new decks that dont see much play that is extreemly strong as well not broken like druid though.
Mage has a new tempo deck as well.
I don’t know because I only play Priest. I just know I counter it all the time as Priest
