Honestly I grew up on blizzard and am still hanging on cause of that and waiting for the games to come from dream haven. I have a lot is nostalgia from diablo 1 and Starcraft and Warcraft and am honestly only still playing hearthstone until Diablo immortal comes out.
It’s kinda funny that I plan on leaving this game for a different blizzard game, almost like they are competing against themselves.
D4 I will play when it comes out, but sparingly since I get most of my video game playtime in on mobile applications
Old Blizzard is dead to me.
I enjoyed Starcraft, Starcraft:Broodwar, Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3 the most. Hearthstone has had its ups and downs. Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and later games have all had disappointing moments. Heroes of the Storm is pretty fun to play.
It would be so great if they released another game similar to Starcraft:Broodwar, Diablo 2 or Warcraft 3.
Remaster was alright overall, though there were some issues with compatibility, etc.
Reforged was a disaster.
Because of Reforged, I’m not really expecting much out of Resurrected.
But my point was that I would really like a game of the same caliber/quality.
Maybe it’s my rose-tinted glasses talking.
Maybe rose-tinted, but honestly I gotta agree that the game aforementioned were of really high quality and I remember spending many hours playing them, especially hard core Diablo 2, and I played that on dial up some
nah cuz i’ve played wow this whole time. and i know what they’re capable of. if a good game happens to come out and they release it, i’ll play it. i mostly ignored HS for a long time because it didn’t interest me. never played starcraft. ignored reforged when it came out. no company cares about their customers as if they are our friends. blizz never did. i am not delusional. they haven’t changed at all. they’re the same as they’ve ever been. a business. they just didn’t start selling extra stuff until later. lol
I think instead of Blizzard getting worse, the world simply gotten better. Gaming as an industry is bigger, with many other good games, many perhaps inspired by Blizzard games themselves. It’s not a bad thing that people other than Bliz take Bliz’s ideas and improve upon them. That doesn’t take away Bliz’s own accomplishments.
The other aspect is that you (people who played back then) are now older. Your tastes have grown. You’ve seen more so it’s harder to surprise or please you. The young kids today may still think Bliz games are the bomb, or whatever it is kids say these days. Heck if I know ;p
The three games I mentioned were really good quality. I paid $20 to buy them and played them for years without them getting stale. It’s those games that earned Blizzard their original fanbase.
Definitely. Anyone who was around to play the predecessors and competition to the first Blizzard games understands why the Blizzard name and the characters Blizzard created are so loved. They used to be very innovative.
I never intended to buy it, so this is from memory and second hand
-initially they hyped that they’ll redo a lot of scenes and missions, and the demo level they had was indeed so, but in the final product is basically just a HD graphics mod
-updated agreement on the map editor, where Bliz owns your maps and mods, so there won’t be another instance of a DotA/Riot happen where Bliz sees none of the profits. While understandable they would do this, it still is very poor optics
-apparently lots of connection issues in the beginning
-even people who had the original are forced to “upgrade”, and deal with all the new problems and accept the agreement. There is no way to keep playing the original.
-…and with the “upgrade”, a lot of features that were in the original are missing, and apparently are STILL not implemented, one year later
