Do you agree? "Destroy both hero powers"

Am I the only one thinking that there should be a legendary card which “destroys” (not disable) both hero powers. I think there are too many super powered hero powers exist for a long time.

Let’s discuss.

I for one am all for any form of “hate” card. I like stax decks in MTG after all.

Hero power are a central part of the game, especially when featured as the key mechanic of a set like with imbue, quests, and hero cards. Being able to destroy those hero powers negatively impacts the gameplay experience of everyone who loves some random hero power, not just the imbue mage you’re mad at (or whatever hero power(s) prompted this thread).

It’s a bad idea. There is nothing that’s unbeatable in this game, neither in wild nor in standard. Learn to beat the things you hate instead of wishing they didn’t exist. You’ll be a better player for it.

If you know the history of why the Hero Power was created. You would know that you cannot remove it from the game even with a card effect later on in a match.

Maybe an interrupt card that disables it for a couple of turns.

The good part about how clueless you are about imbue is that it gives you a new hero power. It not transforms yours.

So the second the opponent play a new imbue after you play this card the only one without a hero power gonna be you.
And to make thing even worse the imbue mechanic actually stores how much imbued your hero power was before so it not gonna even reset the progress.

I just wanna see a jin-gitaxias style card come to hearthstone. Lets reduce player max hand size to zero for a turn. Lets auto counter spell the first spell every turn. Lets disable deathrattle triggers. Lets reduce player maximum mana.

Yes, lets get some hero power destruction. Nothing should be safe.

Too good for Hearthstone. Hearthstone only gets things like Mindbreaker for disruption. Any kind of better disruption and people lose their minds. Also you only get the disruption tech after the thing the tech is for is no longer meta relevant. So your crappy Hero Power tech will only come when Imbue rotates out. That’s what the design history of Hearthstone shows us.

This game’s player base is terrified of disruption.

there was a decent combo I forget the cards, you could swap heropowers for 1 turn, then discover a new hero power, but imbue was made weird and now overwrites whatever heropower you have based on whatever hero you currently have

These kinds of threads are always about “this deck is impossible for my favourite deck to beat, so let’s obliterate it into the ground”.

There was that one 3-cost 2/5 disable hero power card, I think that’s enough.

“I win” cards that require no setup and only work against half of the decks are not good for the game, so no.

Just make a 1 cost spell that you automatically win, make it neutral and common, that’ll make everyone happy

i would love a start of game effect that prevents both players from using their hero power

it would make for some interesting games

such a strong effect messing with a core mechanic of the game should have a huge downside like the player running the card with its effect gaining 1 mana crystal ever 2 or 3 turns instead of each turn

The downside is opportunity cost.
