[Discuss] Gaming Community and Culture

So I shall drink it.

Now it’s empty.
Put it on my tab!

I’d like to mention a recent experience I had here as another piece of the problem. I wrote a post detailing exactly why I greatly enjoy the new Ranking system, highly praising the Developers for redesigning it. Soon after posting, my post was deleted and I was banned for two days. The only possible thing I can think happened was that the toxic community members here flagged my post to get back at me for daring to be kind to the Devs.

So basically, besides more people being likely to post negatively instead of positively, at least in THIS Forum, the Devs are less likely to see praise because of that kind of bad-faith post-flagging.

hes is a victim that post was in response to “meet my family”

It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy, ever-present in the political field as well, nowadays. And media.

Objective, informative and analytical titles and texts net no viewers. Because, while a fair share of people acknowledge the bias and issue, they unwittingly or willingly act just as they’re wanted to.

To be fair the guy replied to his wedding photo which is a low blow.

That is also why many people should have separated profiles for professional stuff and daily stuff.

I never said that he would still quiet ( he should actually report and end the story there).
But his attitude only shows that people who have toxic behavior are actually the ones who get attention.

If it was anyone here doing similar posts at these forums it would be considered “witch hunting” and be banned or suspended by actually show who is the person with toxic behavior.

It’s not about toxic behavior. It’s about emotion and taking a stance.

Humans are simple like that.

I want to congratulate blizzard yet again for proving that Toxicity and Rudeness are the way to get them to listen.

They finally addressed Mage’s waygate card , that user was complaining about.
It’s been an issue for months and years now. But they tend to ignore it until someone took a dive into toxicity.

Good to know there’s an open channel between fans on devs. And we just have to steep low.
They don’t want constructive criticisms. They want us to hit and manipulate their Egos.

And how you know it’s because of this? Correlation does not equal causaution. Also he just picked one random example. I’m pretty sure that if I would write an angry rant about like Jades, Alexstrasza, or whatever else I don’t like nothing will come from it. There was almost certainly more to it than meets the eye.

he just trolling that post has nothing worth paying attention to thats why nobody answered to his post in almost an entire day

Read this thread a few days ago, but I have been thinking about this…

I have to agree; it seems Blizzard responds best to negative feedback. You look at WoW, for example, the only times Bliz has ever adjusted anything in accordance with player wishes, has been when sales and subscriptions declined DRAMATICALLY, or when there were mass cancellations of purchases/accounts.

If history is any indication, the more harsh the outcry, the more likely Blizzard is to act.

I blame the moderators, or lack thereof.
there is also no options to block these rampant 12 yr olds that aren’t in school any more, or approve their post before being seen, etc.

it would suck to have to prove you identity or age at least, to post on forums, but they would be a better place.
I see so much stuff elsewhere… people should be arrested for what they say to people sometimes.

the gaming community is toxic because of anominity. have you heard of good health gaming GG on YouTube. wish I could remember the exact video he made but recently I was listening to him explain the corroalation between the amount of time a person who spends playing games and emotional health. the more someone plays video games the more likely it is they will develop mental issues like depression. I imagine that is a big factor.

omg if we could block ppl so many problems would solved over night.

many parts of the world do exactly that!
i would never want to live in one of these places (i don’t think you would either), but they exist.

Yeah, the number of people who would have to see your posts anymore would be practically zero!

“freedom” is the ability to do whatever you want as long as it’s not at the expense of others.

So freedom of speech is similar. you can say anything you want but not at the expense of others. bothering/offend them …etc

And I wouldn’t have to see them it would be greats. The like 30 ppl who just ruin it for everyone else could just sit in their own little circle and block every “complainer” and just roll play

Freedom is a condition in which people have the opportunity to speak, act and pursue happiness without unnecessary external restrictions. Freedom is important because it leads to enhanced expressions of creativity and original thought, increased productivity, and an overall high quality of life.

“without unnecessary external restrictions”
which is exactly not to be at the expense of others.

Within the limits and Rules. otherwise it’s anarchy.
