Discovery & DK is unbalanced, unskilled, unfun & unfair

Discovery & DK has ruined all sense of enjoyment, skill & fairness in the game - Hematurge, Froststrike, Nerubian Vizer & School Teacher give 8 opportunities for my opponent to pick the perfect broken DK card for the board situation, on top of whatever copies they already have in their deck. The supposed limiting factor of corpses is a joke and trivial to work around.

There is no counterplay or working around the discovery mechanic, and losses arising from this feel extremely unfair, imbalanced & unskilled. As annoying as it is, I can work around or anticipate a control Priest and their 6 board clear options, but it’s impossible to do with DK. Despite the ‘nerfs’, this class & deck (Blood & Frost) have 0% winrates for me across seven decks for Shaman, Paladin, Priest & Druid, and they’re the majority of my matchups on EU at diamond. If there’s only a few specific decks/classes that can beat this, or I have to rely on getting lucky and bursting them down around turn 6, or the solution is to spend money getting cards for classes that I hate playing, then something is very wrong. I’m guessing this is working as intended for Blizzard tough as it ultimately forces players to pay to win to compete with the BS.

I came back this expansion after quitting many years ago due to a lack of balance and it’s amazing to see that nothing has changed, and how greedy/pushy the game has become, or the normalisation of paying £100s just to remain ‘competitive’. You won’t get another penny out of me with the game in it’s currently state, and I’m guessing I’m not alone feeling this given the amount of Blizzard bots that I faced while ranking up this & last season.

Balance your dammed game.

If you can defeat this mentality, you will beat more Death Knights.

Yes, the class is very strong but it is also very beatable. Playing around discover is generally about playing around worst-case scenario. There are a lot of cards that you don’t care if they discover, so play around the ones you do care about.

If you’re playing an initiative-focused deck against Blood Death Knight, you should generally expect to lose more often than win and this is not because of discover. The deck is designed to counter initiative regardless of what they discover.

All due respect, but this is just wrong - my last game (just lost BTW), Blood DK discovered into Sunwell (for 5 cards), and from there discovered into Symphony of Sins, all the while clearing my board each turn while healing up to 45 due to the cards I mentioned in my first post. It is farcical to expect a player to work around this - what decks exactly beat this? Demon Hunter, Tony Druid & Warlock? All of which I don’t have dust for and are niche in the meta.

Lucky them. This is an extreme outlier scenario (happens sometimes in card games). You just take this L and move on. That doesn’t mean you can never play around a discovered card.

As far as pre-DK nerf goes, Undead Priest, Miracle Rogue, and Secret Rogue are also favoured. Post patch Control Priest absolutely destroys it. Pure Paladin, Control Paladin and Imp Warlock had 50/50 matchups against it before it was nerfed. Bare in mind I don’t know your rank but I’m pulling these stats from Legend rank data on Vicious Syndicate because that’s the bracket where players are best at playing around discover - Blood DK is extremely powerful in Bronze to Gold ranks because it is an “easy to play but not so easy to play against” deck.

If you don’t have the dust to craft a deck that is favoured against Blood, just accept that you have an unfavourable matchup against Blood and carry on with your day. You’ll still beat them 3-4 times out of 10 if you play it well and can make up your wins in other matchups.

If other people can play objectively much better than you, then it’s a skill issue and not deck imbalance issue. Saying that you can’t beat DK with priest right now makes you sound like a total noob.

The sad thing here is that the DK had the kind of game that they’ll remember and cherish for weeks to come, and all OP can manage is to be bitter and vengeful. Y’all won’t be happy until fun is outlawed — just kidding, you won’t be happy then either.

What’s the difference? Do you not know what DK plays or what they can discover?

Sounds like a YOU issue, not a deck issue. Plus, EU is known to be the most difficult server.

Again, another YOU problem. If you choose, let’s say, to specifically be a Mage main and are losing and refuse to change, that’s up to you, not the game.

False. Also, the majority of the cards in DK decks are free.
