DG'ed Corpse Flower effect not proccing Mutating Lifeform?

A Corpse Flower with Reborn had been sitting on my opponents board when an Imbue Portal played a Mutating Lifeform onto my board and it was dealt damage from Corpse Flowers effect…and yet the effect of Mutating Lifeform did not go off after being dealt damage.

I honestly should have screen shotted it, but it disappeared from the recent events bar as more portals showed up.

Are you sure? Perhaps it gained an ability that had no visual effect, like Rush.

I hovered over the card to see if there was an effect added. Even if it had gotten Rush the keyword box would have dropped down to list its bonus effects and it wouldnt have had the Zzz of summoning sickness on it if it had gotten Rush. It was rather confusing.
