Devolving Missiles

Guess Edwin ‘Dodged Another One’ VanCleef is surviving another Hall of Fame.

The card single-handedly ruins any slower rogue decks.

Its also a card of the 2 lowest rated classes (win%) this expansion.

Pretty sure mage’s low win % is due to a lot of really awful freeze lists being wildly popular compared to their much better performing options.

Mage sees frequent play in GMs, don’t go telling me they’re weak.

Same GMs where priest, druid and warrior reign. You just can’t tell me mage is weak rn.

Playing mage, frankly, does take some brain as well - which is why i.e. Feno and Boar seem to have taken a liking to the class. I’d imagine a fair bit of players can’t APM into a lot of the decision making involved that relates to partial RNG and mana pools.

Really any deathrattle build.

I consider it a small price to pay for tanking Rez priest but they should have kept it shaman exclusive. Too good for a class with as many options as mage.

So far this expansion has absolutely made me fall in love with Devolving Missiles.

Stealthed minions, Druid’s Beasts, buffed Paladin stuff, Rattlegore… all of it gets laughed at by Devolving Missiles.

As soon as Shadowstep finally goes HoF, Edwin won’t be even too viable. It’s just a dumb minion with a bunch of stats that must be done in a single turn (P.S. and is a Legendary that costs 3).
Ardent Braggart costs 2, allowed 2 of as an epic, and is much more dangerous, while enjoying 0-cost cheat buffs.
Paladin is the new rogue and Edwin is just dumb.

I don’t get it.

Can someone explain what Edwin has to do with Devolving Missiles? And why is Edwin ruining Rogue decks?

Devolving Missiles makes Questing and Edwin -based decks nearly redundant.

What about Ironbeak Owl? Not everyone can run Devolving Missiles.

Devolving Missiles destroys any kind of deck that requires minions to be on the board.

Earth shock does a better job. Missiles is RNG and quite bad against a wide board, which rogues are capable of creating with their 1 drops and lackeys.

Pretty sure rogues are favored against mages, must be doing something wrong if that’s what you want to complain about.

weapon rogue has a 59% favorable winrate against no minion mage, a 55% winrate against small spell mage

stealth rogue has a 63% favorable winrate against no minion mage, a 53% winrate against small spell mage

If you’re losing against mages running missiles with your rogue, you are doing something terribly wrong

Fixed that for you. :+1:

That’s true for aggressive Rogue decks.

But the Rogue deck Muzzy runs is different, and is vulnerable to the Missiles. He played Rogue in the second game.

They do different jobs. Earth Shock kills buffs and lets you get a push past a single taunt minion. Devolving missiles shrinks a single large minion regardless of whether or not it’s buffed. It also gives you a hail Mary pass at getting through multiple taunts.

It is my go to pick off of Wand Thief in my burgle rogue deck. Watching Convincing Infiltrator being turned into a 2 mana minion is hilarious…at least on my end. Pretty sure the Rez Priest didn’t enjoy it too much.
