Devolving missile devolved Jandice Baron into desk imp

I used potion of Potion of Illusion on jandice and when my opponent devolved her she became desk imp???

It says on wiki about devolving missiles:

  • A random based Devolve effect. It is unreliable but it is able to devolve a single minion more than once.

And in notes about Devovle:

  • The base mana cost of the affected minion is used to determine the selection, not the mana cost paid when summoning it.

Jandice seems to be a very broken card , i posted once about a bug with khadgar and full board when i played jandice , my other minions became illusions(including khadgar) and void horror killed them with effect, never answered.
Please fix Jandice Barov

This is not a bug. Potion of Illusion creates a 1-cost copy. A 1-cost minion hit by a devolve effect becomes a 0-cost minion. Desk Imp is a 0-cost minion.

But it is a 1 cost copy not a 1 cost minion,its base mana cost isn’t 1 its 5.
If its cost changed to 1 it would be white not green which indicates mana reduction

I’m not sure what you’re saying the distinction is. If a minion costs 1 then it costs 1. DM doesn’t care about or understand “base cost.”

Because if i had played a mana giant and it got devolved i would get 7 cost minion not 0 even if i had played him for 0 mana,i don’t know why it would be any different with potion of illusions

That’s false. Cards like Thing from Below, Corridor Creeper, and Mogu Fleshshaper see play in Evolve Shaman mostly because you can discount them quite a bit, then evolve them into a big thing once they are on the board. For example, Mogu Fleshshaper costs 9 mana, but it is discounted to 4 mana because there are five minions on the board, right? Then, when you play and mutate it, it becomes a ten mana minion.

You paid 0 mana to summon the giant, but Devolving Missiles cares about the cost printed on the card while it’s in play, which is 8.

The cost printed on the card of the 1-mana copy is 1.

this is a typical scenario where there likely are other factors that caused the outcome, and not unlikely that OP missed an important detail. as such screenshot/replay is necessary to help determine what might have happend, not links to basic descriptions of cards, since if its a bug its most likely a combination of cards that caused it

I have a screenshot but i can’t post it,tell me how and i will,i hovered on devolving missile on action bar and it shows Jandice Barov with a green (1) and after her is a desk imp with a white (0)
It seems that potion of illusions does change the imprint of the mana cost, but then the question arises:
Why does conjurers calling not give you 1 drops when used on potion of illusion generated card?
I vividly remember using conjurers calling on illusion card and not getting 1 drops

It does give you one drops. It didn’t use to but that was a bug which they fixed. I can’t find the patch notes, but here’s a reddit thread discussing the change.
