Certain quests broke the game. Could of been easily fixed but seems devs chose instead to just walk away from the game.

(Part 1) Well, pirate quest warrior is definitely not OK after the miniset. It is so solid and overpowered sometimes that people don’t add a single AV card to it and just ignore the fact that meta have shifted. I’d call it a very bad design even from commercial perspective not including the fact people are got mad playing against them.

On the other hand (part 2) this may force players to purchase the miniset which is still on sale. If digits of income are good enough it makes sense that it still is not touched by Blizzard (let’s not call recent change a real nerf, right?).

If I have to tell you the truth, ALL cards on the Hearthstone right now is not in a good design for me.

The wrong design are:

  • RNG that has too result, range from bad or very good result.
    Example: Puzzle Box, Deck of Lunacy, Jandice Barove, Boggspine Knuckles, Rune of archmage, etc, etc
  • Card that if drawn early, that it will give so so much good result.
    Example: Keleseth, DrekThar, Mankrik and draw wife next turn.
  • Card that give advantage “Start of the game”. Example: Baku, Genn.
  • All mana cheat cards in a class that need that to do OTK. Example: Celestial, lightning Bloom, Refreshing Spring Water, Sorc Apprentice, Radiant Elemental
  • Warlock Hero Power. Yes, this is a mistake.
  • Coin as a card. Again, a bad design.
  • Card that result is not capped. Example: Mozaki, Cram Session, Mutanus. It should be capped. For example: Cram Session, max draw 3. Mozaki, max gain 5, Mutanus should just be 6/6 wihout eating minion stats.
  • Card that reset board without downside: Soul mirror, Shadowcrafter Scabbs
  • Cards that generate infinite values without downside
  • Questlines
  • etc etc

ALL CARDS in current standard meta are actually wrong design. I just cannot tell those one by one. It is too much.

I think for me Discover has too much value and other classes using other class cards better than you can is just too oppressive. I’m like: “If you want to use my cards, why not just play the class yourself?”

Also cards like Ignite are a problem because of the loop it creates. Also, there’s a lot of spells that hit face. Most of them should hit minions I think.

Maybe the game needs limiters. Like you can rez a specific minion only once. With discover, you can’t discover the same card twice or if it’s in your deck, don’t offer it as a choice. Or you can’t discover Legendary cards of any kind.

Right now, most matches are over too quickly. There’s no time for setup and snowballs really quickly. I hate the removal tools but we need them for all the big boards or big minions coming out every second.

It all needs toning down. Cut the mana cheating and cut the discovering. Keep the other keywords. Limit the player from drawing no more than 3 cards in a turn. Stop all the cycling and stop interfering with the other players hand or deck.

Designs that ruin HS: Mechanics that put you on a sharp clock.
Examples: Jade golems when they were in standard, old quest rogue when it was in standard, new pirate warrior quest reward in standard.

And no, I’m not going to defend them by saying they are necessary because they aren’t. I’m one of the few that believes that aggro doesn’t need to exist for a healthy metagame. What needs to happen instead is that we need more tools to deal with very greedy control and combo decks.

What needs to happen going forward is that decks need to be less about Plan A working at all costs and instead the design being about: if plan A doesn’t work, a player should be able to execute plan B or even C AND have the time to do it. No more sharp clocks.

the only thing wrong with mutanus is his manacost.

This right here i dont think theres a single deck in the meta besides it that does the same…
But people with low synaptic activity need to auto pilot something to Legend.

I wish i could keelhaul every single Pirate Warrior player, walking the plank is too good for them.
