Design Idea for Hunter

They should make a 3 mana Bow weapon with 3 durability that can’t attack but while you have it equipped your hero power does increased damage by 2 and can also target minions, but loses 1 durability each time your hero power is used.

This would synergize well with Tour Guide in Standard and it wouldn’t break Wild because as a 3 mana weapon you wouldn’t be able to use it in Even Hunter.

If I’m not mistaken, Quest Hunter does that same thing.

Pairing it with Quest Hunter, would the quest AND weapon stack?

If so, that is what, 4 damage per turn for 2 mana?

That’s honestly insane. I like the concept for Standard but once it rotates to Wild, it might be too much.

I’m not sure as I’m a returning player and only had time for a few matches so far.

Quest hunter only uses even cost cards in wild and its like a tier 3 deck, also the only similarity it shares with the quest is the ability to target minions, which is an effect that multiple hunter minions have in wild. The effect doesn’t exist in standard anymore though and it’s never been tied to a weapon, only to the quest and two minions.

Interesting. It could bring even quest hunter up a bit.

Of course, every Hunter card in existence is considered “a problem…”

Do you play wild i dont think any quests are in standard atm big beast hunter is pretty fun in standard it even has heals and boardclears

I used to but right now, I’m playing this Hunter deck they offered to let me use for free.

I seriously won every match to Silver 10. So far, I’ve seen Hunters, Mages and Lich Kings. Just defeated a demon hunter.

Midrange has always been my favorite and I prefer winning through board control versus slinging spells for a hundred years. That’s just my personal preference though.

I quit playing Wild because of Time Warp mage. I took a long break to get my mental health in order. I am not following any streams, reading data reports or stats or any of that. I am quite simply playing to have fun.

Once I start crunching numbers, I feel like I have to win to make up for the work/effort of doing maths.

It’s a bizarre sense of entitlement that took me a long time to realize about myself.

And integration helps a lot.

They nerfed that atm i feel hunter is better to play in stanard but i could be wrong can you share the free list the game gives you id like to look at it

edit - i wanted to see how many cards for the full list are missing or did they give the full hunter deck with all legendaries ?

I find King Krush to be a great finisher. Insatiable Devourer is good for removing troublesome taunts. I try to mulligan for any early game minions. My strategy is to go for board control, bust out the hydras if I’m losing it and use weapons to clear small minions with text.

For example, Grim Patron, the 2/3 that can’t be targeted by spells and etc. I am mostly seeing mages and lich kings. The occasional demon hunter but I also JUST broke into Silver ten.

I hope this helps and if you have any more questions, or need any help piloting the deck, just let me know.

The strategy behind Hunter is to establish board control, use a combination of minions and hero power to whittle down their health and using the big beasts as finishers or to clear taunts to hit face.

Contrary to popular belief, it is all too easy to miss lethal. It takes practice, knowledge of the deck, and maximizing resources to reach lethal. Being mindful of what taunts come out on which turn, how much damage you can do with everything you have.

You are basically still playing the exact standard big beast hunter net deck from before the set rotation 2 months ago, should try to change things up because that won’t get you very far in wild especially once you start running into Priest at high ranks and you have no poison or spell clears in your deck. None of the good hunter decks in wild use any of those cards really besides Tavish, Krush, Hydra and Harpoon Gun. Best Hunter decks in wild would be Secret Hunter, different Reno Hunter lists, Even Hunter Lists and smaller beast lists with Vulture/ Rhino/ Hyena comps.

It was a Hunter deck they offered for free. I made it to Silver 9 with it.

Also, I’m a returning player. I have no idea what the meta looks like and not a lot of resources. I simply play for fun and stop playing when it stops being fun.

And it usually stops being fun when mages lock me out of matches. Once I run into too many of those, I stop playing. I don’t take it seriously enough to actively try to climb.

How could they offer you a renathal deck for free? I thought it only offered 30 card decks from what I’ve seen

I don’t know. It says I have four days to try them all but when the timer is up, I have to pick one.
