Defeated coren direbrew in blackrock, now on Thaurissan

what is the trick with Thau? there were these large guys, can’t remember how far I got… ugh, I expect these to get harder, but wow, I wanna rage kill my pc sometimes haha

The way I beat him was Xyrella with maxed Blinding Luminance and maxed Radiant Wand to keep my opponents attack lowered and Blademaster Samuro with maxed Double Strike and maxed Burning Blade to dish out huge damage.

Cariel/Xyrella/Samuro can beat nearly everything on normal.

Velen/Anduin/Xyrella also crush everything but super aggressive Green burst damage.

Cariel is blah in PvP, but works as a great wall to defend your Xyrella/Samuro in PvE. Just taunt and heal, taunt and heal.

the problem in that last boss battle, they ignore taunt, so cariel is kind of useless at the end, plus their attack grows EACH time by 3, not the mention the berserk or whatever guy, every time someone takes damage it grows, and the non stop patrons

Cariel/Cornelius/Anduin is a good combo, heal heal heal while building up attack power with cariel’s cooldown

PvE is all about abusing tribal treasures. I got lucky with Orcs/Horde so I steamrolled everything with just orcs + xyrella. Also, if you can get Xyrella’s AoE or Samuro Windfury as a treasure it is pretty much a free run.

Apart from spell combos (fire is generally best), for bounties they get real easy if you roll full humans or orcs, and get stacks of the orgrimmar/stormwind banner, or the one that gives start of game +3/6 or +5/10 to all of your mercs. Your stats will be through the roof by the end.

Thaurissan is probably the hardest fight on normal. The best strategy I’ve seen for him is to send out 3 casters and rush him down as quickly as possible. The other two sort themselves out relatively quickly and might die by accident while you’re rushing him down

Hysteria + whirling blades

OR

To the death + mukla immunity

= instant win against any boss (with the exception of Blackrock 6 perhaps). If you do not want to bother with RNG and treasures, Thau can be nuked down in 3 turns by a nature combo. Put Guff and Bru’kan with something like Brightwing and you are good to go.

so I have made it to Thaurissan, final boss a few times, who am I supposed to kill first?

If you can avoid killing anything else before him, the fight will be a lot easier. And you really do NOT want to kill Moira if you can avoid it since she buffs Thaurissan to a dangerous level.

Hitting him with Fire damage is a net 0-damage to him and a heal to everyone else. This can help you keep things alive while you work solely on him with other sources of non-Fire damage.

If you have Gruul and his level 7 equipment (Fire Resistance) the entirety of Blackrock becomes much easier. You can farm Gruul coins in the second Fellwood encounter (The Anointed Blades).

ok, well i went after him only, but i still had 5 mercs left… the first 3 played died, couldnt stop it, but the best part as he only had 17 health left, when my last 2 were up, anduin, and velen i think… so he was defeated…
