That’s your misnomer. Your fooling yourself, and trying to fool others.
The Law of large numbers has nothing to do with any of this really.
Just grabbed some current stats (supposedly) in the last 1 hour. there were 47,294 players in HS.
EDIT:
47,294 in the last hour as pulled at the time of this edit.
They complete 1 game every 5 mins, 12 every hour (no washroom breaks, sleeping, eating. or anything, just continuous playing until they hit "billions of matches)
Total matches an hour: 236470
2837640 matches a day
It mean that in 365 days, they could complete 1035738600 matches. so two years for billions
As soon as we take in to account 8 hours sleep (1/3 day) it jumps to 6 years. Do they work? Do they go to school? Do they eat? Do they do anything other than HS for 16hrs/day for 6 years? And the game has only been in release for 10 years. With a lead time of 4 years, for multiple websites to suddenly all decide, and decipher how to capture HS matches, and many of them having billions of matches recorded is a very very far stretch.
Personally I find most matches last 7-10 mins, but I used 5 for your benefit.
Again, you don’t seem to fully understand the concept of billions
I’m the only person alive in my room right now, currently.
I’ve been there for 5 minutes.
Therefore it’s impossible for any living being to have exhaled billions of times within the confines of my room, because I’m only counting myself, and only the last 5 minutes.
Similarly, you’re taking “current” stats while ignoring the entire history of the entire game because… why, exactly? To win an argument over a month old?
Yeah sorry, just because the rest of the forum users live minute by minute, and can’t be bothered to continue a conversation more than 5 days old, doesn’t mean I follow that same attention span.
EDIT and it’s less than 30 days since the last post btw. It would also be more appreciated if you had something more worthwhile to contribute rather than just using it as a means to up your post count and harass/troll someone.
You quoted statistical data that is entirely irrelevant, and what’s worse, it’s easy to find data that IS relevant:
https://activeplayer.io/hearthstone/
Active Players (30D) 4,997,437
Even if we were to go with your entirely fictitious guess that you pulled from your butt, that “every single player ever only plays 1 game every 5 minutes” then we’d still have a sample size of 12 * 4,997,437 = 59,969,244 * 30 = 1,799,077,320 per the last 30 days.
Last I checked, the technical definition of a number with 9 zero’s after it? BILLION.
You’re factually incorrect AND a blatant troll. No wonder I had you blocked.
EDIT: just to prove you actually said this:
No editing THAT away. You’re wrong and you waited “almost a month” just to respond because “you’re busy.”
Not busy enough to let it drop! But juuust the right amount of “too busy” to respond for more than 2 weeks. Riiight.
