Deck idea for wild OTK ress priest - Try it!

Hi.

I just want to share an old decklist i once handcrafted that was a variation of a really strong meta deck back in the day. It’s a classic Ress priest that works with ressurecting mostly Velen and Malygos. These are 2 big key minions in the deck, and cannot be replaced. I try to stay around 4 max 5 minions in this deck (to not get a horrible ress) But you can play around with which ress minions to get a better grip over aggro decks. I personally played this deck a long while; and absolutely loved it, also smashing winrates with it. The only reason i stopped playing it, is i was getting bored after 1000 games and just wanted something more challenging. I want to share it with you, since Aggro is running rampant.

Alot of you will probably criticize me for trying to support the Big Pri archetype, i do not. Honestly, ive played both, and the Rag-Y’shaarj- Lich King - Obsidian kind of deck is so boring i want to poke out my eyelids. I feel like this decklist, even tho it has to be changed a bit (outdated cards from 2018ish) will provide more fun and a better WR while playing Big Pri in Wild. I hope you like it as much as i did

Now, this is the decklist i once loved so much. To be clear, there are a couple of new spells for Big pri that will probably make this deck more fluent in today’s meta. Also, when i first got this deck, Smite was still a way to OTK if you had 2 maly and a Velen on board. Or atleast, close to it. Since Smite changed i put in 2 mind blasts, even though one would be plenty if it doesnt get milled. Now, mind you: This decklist, is not an instant one turn KO (most of the time) without putting Thaurissan in your deck. However, the new 2 mana spell (reduce all spells in hand by 1) Will be able to give you as much real OTK potential as you need. This deck is filled with removal and healing (Maly on board and spirit lash is full heal 6 dmg clear) which it resorts on to stay alive, while consistently trying to keep either a Maly or Velen on board. If you get the spell reduction soon, you will be able to just ‘gg’ into a spellstone mindblast (5 base - 10 if maly on board - 20 if Velen on board, no vargoth included)
Ive had games where i simply had 7 vargoth and threw a mind blast to finish. Games where i powered down aggro with the lifesteal and zilliax.

So, what i mean to say is, this is a great consistent deck for a skilled pilot to reach high ranks and actually ENJOY THEMSELVES while not feeling like the 2000000th big priest buffoon. I would like to see how you, the playerbase, change this decklist to something that works really well in the Wild Meta. There’s an infinite number of possibilities this deck can go and i dont even see 1 player using this kind of Ress archetype.

PS: I know how dust heavy this deck is, i dont know what to say. Its a Big priest in its core, after all. Grind the dust baby!

Nice list. I truly miss mind blast shenanigans and actually having a way to win when playing priest that isn’t grinding your opponent down for 20 minutes.

First thing I’d do is wipe out the mass Rezzes for palm reading as they’re overkill. You’ll have plenty of spells to get your spellstones buffed and they also leave you room for mind blasts if they’re not reduced.

I used to run jepetto with malygos and velen, it was pretty inconsistent because you could draw the big minions out before drawing jepetto and not be able to reduce the cost, but now that you have sphere of sapience it could maybe be a little more consistent. I think the non rez package is best for aggro, you can include northshire clerics in there because they are good for gathering pieces and refilling your hand.

While I still think this decklist is viable, I don’t think it is better than the current big priest. I wouldn’t go out of my way to craft it, but if you crafted Velen for free and you already have Malygos then yes I agree malygos druid is not the only way you can use it.

If you already know that this particular list is flawed, why didn’t you update it with the appropriate cards like Palm Reading?

I remember doing OTK as early as turn 7, using Cloning Gallery. If you don’t draw Malygos and Velen, it’s a game winning card not in the list.

Anyway, yeah. Been a while since mindblast gallery priest. Where is Gallery? one card to instantly pull win con to the rez pool.

Also, there is cthun variant too. The old cthun, not the mech or darkmoon ones. the one with twilight elder, drakkari and thaurissan. The buff are on player, not the minions. so the ressurected cthun always comes big. keep summoning big cthun is fun.
