Hey, need help better understanding how to better play Tekhan (DH edition).
How should I play him? Any particular strats? Recommended starting power and deck?
What should I keep an eye out for?
Passives?
Treasures?
Card Buckets?
Specific Cards?
Any help would be appreciated.
Tekahn has a bunch of buckets that favor high-mana minions including Giants, so go for Robes of Gaudiness or Scepter of Summoning. The buckets in question are Big Demons, In Control, and Legends, but some Giants are in othet buckets IIRC. Prioritize Giants over other big minions.
It’s been too long since I played Dalaran Heist, so I can’t offer more suggestions.
Well, it’s a start. Thanks.
Dalaran Heist doesn’t give you much choice the best decks are all about getting giant minions and mana cheating them to have a huge board early and win from there.
Anything that does that is good other stuff not as much
I found that the hero power that summons a 2/2 goes really well for this adventure. Having a reliable source of minions for the early game means you can invest more in late game minions. The 2/2’s trade well and they can bait the AI’s into wasting removal on them instead of your more valuable minions. Warlock also has a lot of effects that sacrifice minions so they make good fodder for that as well.
I know the randomness is a compounding factor, but just point me at some good cards or potential combos, and I’ll be fine.
Still, thanks; giants and and recruit-like methods, okay.
The passive that makes cards cost half but just two of them playble is the best one .
That’s interesting; I’ll try that. Thanks.
Might also help with some of Chapter 5’s big boss?
Robes of Gaudiness are the prime treasure to get and were the crutch that I relied on for most of my wins against the final chapter. I recommend watching Trump’s (Not the president) runs in the Dalaraan Heist, he’s a good player and he usually talks about why he picks this or that bucket or treasure or plays this or that card which helps a lot.
So many recommendations for those Gaudy things…I guess I’ll try them more often…
I don’t like relying on them as a crutch so much but at least for the final chapter it’s about the only way to consistently win at it for those of us that don’t play all the time.
I know it’s a gimmick, but it won me a few games. The MalGanis and Permanent Stealth alone can seal a matchup. If you do choose to go this route, make sure you pack a couple MalGanis cards either with Bob Tavern or your deckbuilding process so that AoEs don’t ruin the gimmick.
The default first deck and basic draw hero power honestly feels the best. Board clears and tempo is key, while having plenty of heals to stay alive seems to be the best. Pick Treasures and Perks that hinder opponent’s tempo, like forcing their minions to cost more or Boom Bots, and cards that have massive swings like steal all their minions or clear their board.
And lastly, just hope on RNG.
