Control/attrition meta = unplayable game

Two 60% winrate decks in the format. Blood dk at 20% playrate, armor DH at 15%. I literally don’t want to play the game anymore when more than a third of my matchups are going to be into overpowered, grindy control decks that stretch games out two or three times as long just for you to inevitably lose to their broken card quality.

Remember that this is the inevitable result of lowered lethality, refusing to support combo decks, and listening to every whiner who wants to play board clears and gain health until fatigue

wait till you seee 3 5/8 in turn 3 or 4, or better, a warriror with 4 8/8 in turn 5 =))

This is silly, There is no attrition because there is no limit to resources and DH is the best proof for that truism. Also, there is no attrition in a meta where Kil’jaeden is a card.

Attrition is typically defined as the action or process of gradually reducing the strength or effectiveness of someone or something through sustained attack or pressure.

DH does exactly this because it has unlimited resources. Outside of a mirror, it grinds the opponent to dust by using up all of their resources, leaving them without options.

I have games where I take the armor option from The Exodar just to be rude. Warrior with two cards is not going to do 400 damage, which means he lost the war of attrition.

There is clearly attrition decks in this meta.

Don’t play then. Screw aggro and your 5 minutes on a toilet games.

This is not angry birds.

OP’s just mad that anyone is able to play the game in a different way than what he wants to.

You have had your control decks being top of the meta for half the last expansion, and now they’re 60% winrate…you don’t want a real game of hearthstone, clearly. It sounds like you just want to play board clears over and over and pat yourself on the back for making the obvious play every turn and winning every time because your control decks are yet again OP

Best advice following an expansion…take a 1-2 week break, go do something else, and give the game time to settle down/fixes to occur. Week 1 and 2 are usually the devs using us as play testers anyways. There is quite a bit of bonkers stuff going on atm, much of which FEELS inevitable no matter what you try to do. They really do a very poor job of giving players any tools to counter things in Hearthstone these days. This is feeling like a very minion-centric setup atm.

DH is for sure getting nerfed or hotfixed.

No. It’s just Blizzard doing yo-yo design again: the meta was obscenely fast for a few months and that became obnoxious and now they make it slow.

Making a deck too broken against most other decks is them being bad at balancing which is a separate subject.

How such broken things are not detected in QA ?! They got good design skills but no deck building skills or what?!

Most of them are Artists. Good at making pretty images and fun concepts, bad at the mathematics of it.

I think they want broken decks to generate interest in the new cards. Everyone wants to create the broken deck and play it. I think they intentionally over-tune things when new cards come out.

I’m quite enjoying 30 minute control mind games, thank you very much.

What fun mind games does leech DK/starship DH have exactly? Genuinely curious if this is a real claim or a snap reaction, cause these are some of the most braindead control decks I’ve ever seen in HS

That’s also true. And they do similar things in WoW so it’s a Blizzard-wide culture.

I was never convinced it’s good because in the long term it makes worse games

PS I get their reasoning “it makes it exciting”, but it also makes it dumb.

No Patrick, summoning 500 arkonite defense crystals does not count as mind games

Its all fun and mind games until the 650 damage starship is launched in your face after ceaseless cleared the board.

They cut both board clears and health gain, they just didn’t cut health gain enough.

Board clears and minion destruction mostly feel okay now to me.

I’m sure they’ll ruin it in the miniset, but there you have it.

Overall so far this expansion just feels like way too many stats are being puked out every game. Seeing someone drop arkonite should not be GG.
