Don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful for the free wins. Huntard eats you for breakfast. It’s not fun until I have lethal though, because I know any point RNG could do a great big piss in my chips. So what are you getting out of it?
Playing something else that SMorc deck for once.
Do you normally play smorc decks? Something tells me no.
You know there is a huge middle ground between smorc and…whatever Priest does right?
People play what they enjoy, i don’t get what you’re getting at.
Do you also chastise people for playing 4X games, or FPS games, or RPG games?
Ok, let me frame it another way. What matchups do you enjoy with that deck?
Well then it’s kinda funny how you worded why you play priest, by answering that it’s not this other thing (you apparently don’t enjoy as much)
It’s like asking why are you with your wife/husband, and your answer is “he/she isn’t this other person”
Control priest just has all the answers needed.
Fighting burn decks? Heal beyond their burn thresholds.
Fighting aggro decks? Board wipe them till they run out of gas.
Fighting board buffing decks? Silence them.
Fighting combo decks? Dirty rat their pieces.
Fighting control? ETC and rivendare them.
Simply always having an answer is satisfying in its own way. I fought a relic DH yesterday and dirty ratted his one copy of Rowdy Fan. When he stheno’d, he was only able to hit me down to 4 hp. If I didn’t dirty rat him I would have lost.
I offer a counter point: is it fun NOT having an answer to your opponent?
It can be. The most fun I’ve ever had in Ranked is playing Mozaki Mage. With that deck you often needed to predict when your opponent would have lethal, then commit to going off one turn before even though you don’t have the guaranteed OTK yet, hoping to draw into it with Cram Session. I don’t know if you want to count that as not having an answer or as having an answer without knowing whether you do or not, but point is, fun to me.
I would argue the healing isn’t strong enough to counter burn heavy decks. Also if you can make a wide board fast and push a lot of damage early before clean the scene finishing them off isn’t too much trouble. Seems to be the only way to beat them now Combo decks are banned :). Works though
I play my control deck just to pee in your wheaties. If my game can make you frustrated or MAD I am happy. Tired of all the stupid decks out there so I play an even stupider deck just to counter your deck.
I love it when people like you come to the forums and complain about my deck that literally is not even a t2 deck… I don’t need to win all my games that is not the point, the point is ruining YOUR day.
Well. Yes. But that can’t be your entire motivation for playing a video game.
Don’t worry I have just as much fun top decking lethal after youve discovered your 287th answer to my plays.
Counterpoint - sometimes being the one trying to win is fun too.
I just enjoy playing different play styles and sometimes I want long drawn out games.
In that match up you can play the lifesteal colossal, then copy it with that 2 mana card. 2 9 attack lifesteal minions making enemies attack into them is often enough to beat burn decks.
True, but that involves drawing both cards and staying alive until turn 9. With a 40 card deck.
I don’t think that’s correct, though.
Control priest is super good right now, but not when played wrong and not against certain decks.
Taelan Fordring always draws you the Behemoth, so that’s a card guaranteeing at least the minion draw.
Dispossesed Soul is activated like 95% of games, and helps you search what you need for whatever matchup you’re digging into your deck for.
Cannibalize is always there to offer yet more healing. If it’s some burn strategy without much in the way of minions, cannibalizing your own minions is a decent choice. I have found myself using it on my own dirty rat to heal for 6.
Queen Azshara can pull you a Colossal, and sometimes that’s a Behemoth.
Worst case scenario, you Sir Finley your hand to deal with a bricked hand against your current matchup.
Maybe, but you can just applaud your opponent for drawing the nuts while you drew no answers. Move onto the next if such a loss occurs.
I think on average your are either going to fail to draw well enough, or your opponent (if they have at least a few functioning braincells) will put on too much pressure too early, and can finish you off if they’re smart about it (avoid playing minions into Behemoth, etc)
You play your control decks just to get free wins.
Tbf, you play whatever the meta tells you to just like now
Why do you care? It seems to me you are trying to disparage Priest players without directly coming out and saying it.
He probably does and you can’t blame him.
f* everyone who plays priest atm
