then the reconnect takes so long that it ends up surrendering the game before I can get back in
Yup. Can’t play a single game in hearthstone. It disconnects and can’t reconnect. This problem seems to occur after every bigger patch. It is extremely frustrating.
Looks like server side crashes rather than simple disconnects…
seems to be a crash dc problem only in arena ladder there’s no issue

Just went to try out the new Arena. 2 turns into my first game… disconnect. Tried several times to restart and get back into the game but it wouldn’t connect.
Now I’m out an Arena ticket and Hearthstone has pretty much ensured I won’t be playing that mode in the foreseeable future. 
Same. But ongoing for weeks now.
I only play Battlegrounds Duo with my wife. Normally games work smoothly, but those that take a bit extra (say about 16-20 combats) tend to disconnect whenever combat is initiated. My first guess would be that the game realizes, that displaying all the combat would take longer than you the time allocated to your whole turn (combat + recruit).
So please… speed up that thing. All the animations are not needed, just cut them in half. The delays drawing cards etc., they all make games frustrating since you just run out of time without any chance to use gold etc. … I certainly am not the fastest player around, but I am not slacking either.
Same here, it is so annoying… Many battlegrounds game disconnecting in the middle, can never reconnect… WHAT THE HELL BLIZZARD?
Yep same here since update. Battlegrounds disconnects and the ‘you’ve been disconnected’ error won’t clear. Have to close the game and wait 30mins to get back in. Play 1 ir 2 games and then the samething happens over.
I just don’t have time for this, literally speaking not figuratively.
I’ve played three Battlegrounds matches in a row, and in all of them I got the “reconnecting” screen, but it never manages to reconnect.
Strangely, I’m not losing any rating, but the fact that I can’t finish a single match makes the game unplayable.
yeah Ive noticed this too, so maybe when it crashes, it crashes for every player in that BG, it can’t be on our end this problem or we’d lose rating.

Blizzard ? If your games disconnects SO OFTEN…
AT LEAST CLOSE the game properly or OFFER the choice to the PLAYER on the CLIENT side to reconnect OR NOT !
2025 ! And I’m on a screen with a message “We are trying to reconnect you to your game”. I’m DEAD because of the disconnect so you will NEVER reconnect to it.
How can you let a such bad loop occurs in 2025 ?
So I can’t play anymore for minutes or hours until your server “sees” the PROBLEM ?
You can’t develop a feature for BREAKING this loop by letting PEOPLE choose if they want to reconnec or NOT ?
No way to clear a cache, no option other than waiting ?
2025 ! Can you make something for leaving a game PROPERLY and start a new game PROPERLY it’s too much to ask 2025 ?
You are not an independant studio with a lack of money.
Closing / Opening an app it’s a fundamental BASIS.

FORGET the reconnect feature if it does not work !
working properly means :
1 Disconnec (already a bug…)
2 Check if player is alive or dead in the lobby
a) alive reconnecting
b) dead ignore reconnecting feature and start a new game.
How a such SIMPLE way can’t work in 2025 on HS a game born in 2015 ?!

Happening to me too.
Same for me, I lost more than 3 battlegrounds games just for that problem… Its very annoying. Nothing you can do, no matter if you close and open the game, keeps bug trying to recover the match. Please Blizzard fix this!
Same here, very, very frustrating. And to think I have paid Blizzard decent amount of money, but the service can be appalling 
The game is as full of holes as Swiss cheese and such problems will always exist after every patch.
I don’t understand why they don’t abandon this rusty game and make a new one with a new graphics engine.
And the funniest thing is that they charge for this game as if it was new and fresh. LAUGHTER
Chiming in with the same issue. I can play ranked mode no problem (so far), but encountering disconnects in BG’s. Yesterday it took 3-4 re-launch attempts before it finally said it can’t reconnect and I was able to clear the error. It just happened again in my first BG, I’ve re-launched the game 6 times and the error will not clear. This isn’t a minor bug; and it’s really hard to get excited about a new expansion when we can’t play the game now.
This sucks. I’m experiencing an issue where it constantly disconnects from the game. I’m playing BG and each action takes 10 seconds to execute. This resulted to turns that are not maximized. The issue is not my PC or the internet connection since other games are fine. The worst part is that whether I play Hearthstone in PC or mobile, this lag is all the same. Please fix this.
I’m seriously fed up with the state of Hearthstone Battlegrounds. Lately, about 1 in every 3 or 4 games ends up disconnecting and once it does, it never reconnects. I’ve tried everything: closing the game, restarting the Battle.net app, even rebooting my PC — nothing works. The game just doesn’t come back.
And no, this isn’t a hardware or internet issue. I’m running a high-end PC with a 1 Gbps fiber connection. Everything else works flawlessly — this is 100% a Hearthstone problem.
What’s even more frustrating is that this isn’t a new bug. This has been happening for months, and it’s still not fixed. It’s honestly unacceptable, especially considering how much money many of us have invested into this game over the years.
If this continues, I can absolutely see people quitting BG entirely. It’s unplayable when you’re constantly getting kicked mid-game with no way back in.
Please, Blizzard — do something about this. We love the game, but this level of instability is just killing it.
Same. 2 out of 4 battlegrounds games since patch. Just going to walk away and wait several weeks I guess. Happens on multiple platforms. Can’t use the game at all for about 20-30 minutes once it gets triggered. Fix your game blizz.
