Colossus needs to be three times per game. It already has a double battle cry so it should not be able to get bounced back to the hand over and over again.
Colossus requires a lot of build up to make it worth using. It’s fine. There are plenty of decks out there that eat Protoss mage for lunch.
Colossus needs to cause double damage in order to cause even more panic on control lovers.
Mage is not even top 5 right now it barely reaches 50% WR.
No it doesn’t. It needs 2-3 spells to be worth it (which you tutor out with chrono boost – admitedly you need photon cannon or artanis to make it playable), like 5 to just end the game.
Like yeah, it’s a super late game card, but it really doesn’t require any setup.
That’s not true. I mean are you talking about overall winrates (which are useless and completely meaningless) because on hsreplay imbue mage is tier 2.
It does not require any set up, but the entire deck is built around it?
Tier 2 is kind of the barely above 50% win rate mark though.
The deck isn’t particularly good.
Sure, when you manage to play a bunch of single target removal spells with fixed damage, draw your deck in the right order, and make it to turn 8-10, and your opponent hasn’t armored/gained health out of range or used rats in your key card, Colossus is good.
But uhh, that just doesn’t happen most games.
Colossus is almost certainly not getting any kind of adjustment anytime soon. Any time it starts to look good, people start playing good decks again and it drops back to barely playable ranges.
It requires you to play your cards on curve like… literally any deck does. The only meaningful set up is making it cost 10 or less, which requires… you playing Artanis, but there’re other ways to do it anyway.
It’s at a 54.7% winrate. Which is pretty high.
Which, like, I don’t even actually care about the winrate, it’s just a dumb as rocks deck with a way too powerful top end that renders most of the match moot.
If it is truly that simple why does it lose so much?
Most of the tier 1 decks right now are basic as hell aggro decks. Complexity has nothing to do with winrate.
Actually like most of the top decks right now are apparently just built around Menagerie Jug? That’s so weird. I think I’ve seen one deck run that.
Depends on the source I guess?

49.9% 95k games
Top 1k
https://www.hsguru.com/meta?format=2&rank=top_legend
48.9% 2531 games
Both of these are inflated win rates due to being tracker side only.
Deck is basically unplayable if you want to climb right now.
I think I’m looking at the aggregate.
Mage has a lot of ways to stall right now, so yeah idk, Unless you get lucky with pulling it down with dirty rat or something, they almost always get to use that card
Those are also aggregate stats of the archetype.
With specific lists, I can see one in top 1k at a 53%, but that’s not a real number with only 163 games, and with the inflationary effect that’s in tier 3 ranges at best.
If I expand to legend there’s 1 list showing 52.1% with about 1600 games, which is more real, but still an adjusted tier 3 after removing the win rate boost from tracker bias.
I just don’t see any evidence of the deck being good. It was for like, a day after the patch, but then the meta very quickly deleted it.
It’s just weird how many complaints this deck is getting on a daily basis when it’s a barely functional deck.
Okay here’s a link.
Imbue Mage enters as the 29th deck. The first Protoss enters at 37.
Dood, tier 2 is like… the deck is usable and that’s it, and even on hsreplay its not listed as a top tier 2 it is like a mid tier 2 at best.
This is only true on bronze to gold ranks, on gold it becomes 51% and as you progress the winrate drops a lot.
I mean let’s not get too crazy… the deck functions.
It gets a lot of complaints for the reason I said, super easy to play, super explosive top end that’s almost impossible to make a come back from.
It’s mostly losing, seemingly to me, to these aggro menagerie decks and egg hunter and stuff, which are super aggressive decks. Like looking at hsguru that’s like… the top 20 diamond-legend decks. It’s almost nothing but that.
Though like I said, it bothers me less whether or not the deck is good, and more that it’s just kinda stupid.
Playing against these aggro decks is more fun to me because you actually can tech against them and there’s some tension. Can you keep the board clear so they can’t drop their buff card?
Protoss Mage is like… what can a tempo deck do (unless it’s some sort of turbo fast build)? Not dump your hand and hold onto resources? That just slows the game down and gives them more freedom to play stuff. Like it’s just not fun and there’s nothing to even really think about.
I had a Colossus kill me with just 5 base damage. I had a board ready to lethal but the hero was low health.
Card is good even if you spam whisps and almost never upgrade the Protoss.
So…enough damage that a Fireball and hero power ping might have finished you off anyways? Hardly makes colossus overpowered.
It should be modified to only damage minions.
So you want Protoss mage killed then. It’s their win-con, plain and simple. If it can’t damage the hero than there is no point to playing it.
