Basically when you resurrect the main part of a “Colossal” minion you also resurrect its other parts, so it would also be logical that when you destroy the main part you also destroy its other parts, right?
I agree, the colossal keyword was very badly designed, both flavor-wise and balance-wise
But then Ozumat would be better?
Colossal should only trigger when either played or summoned from the hand/deck, not from Rez.
I feel like the hands of that one colossal should be like “can’t attack” so if you kill the main dude they just stay on the board unable to attack.
his hands can still exist if you destroyed his body/head but they shouldn’t be attacking! xD
(for some reason I am drawing a blank at remembering his name)
funnily enough they don’t trigger from mind control effects either ! kinda feel like it should drag the whole colossal across right ?
Lmao, at least it should triggers his deathrattle first.
I think that if it was a Battlecry it would be ok but then his keyword will not have to much sense i guess.
It also could be an option, that when you kill the main part of a Colossal the rest of his body can’t attack unless you silence it.
Nah, Tail Brains yo. Tail Brains. And also Ghost Hands. Ghost Ship…and uh… Auto Pilot submarine mech wreckage. Yeah.
I’m sorry but colossals are one of the most entertaining minions they have created in the game probably ever. Their interactions are perfectly fine.
If you could destroy just the core, it would be designed as even more powerful to start.
I’m guessing the main complaint is from something in wild. The whole mode is broken, better to just stay away.
This is how I’d have designed the colossals:
1- Whenever the main body dies or leaves the board, the appendages die immediately.
2- The Colossal keyword hides a “battlecry: summon x appendages”, so they can only be summoned when played from hand.
3- The appendages can’t be resurrected.
With these changes some of them would need to be reworded or rebalanced:
Xhilag - 4/7
Hydraladon - 5/6
Colaque - Colaque’s Shell to 1/8 and “Can’t attack”.
Gaia - no changes
Leviathan - no changes
Behemoth - no changes
Crabatoa - no changes
Glugg - 3/6
Gigafin - 7-mana 7/6, reword to “Spit them back out if destroyed before Gigafin’s Maw”.
Nellie - no changes
Ozumat - 6-mana 6/7, “…for every Ozumat’s Tentacle still remaining…”
Neptulon - no changes
While this might be good on theory for Ozumat, but I don’t like it, because his wohle purpose is to flood the board with his minions and only the main body should get destroyed.
Don’t like it. Weird interaction with Neptulon, because it kinda ruins his purpsoe being dependet on his hands and with your change he will be just a 10 mana 7/7 with windfury.
Neptulon says thank you.
Neptulon in rez priest is why I suggested both of these changes, although I suppose the item 2 (summoning only part of a minion) isn’t very flavorful as well.

I suppose the item 2 (summoning only part of a minion) isn’t very flavorful as well.
This and also that Big Priest would never resurrect Neptulon’s arms, but only his main body. But this isn’t this actually what players want that Big Priest resummons his arms and his main body?
So here is the question what is better a naked 7/7 Neptulon without arms or like it’s currently? I don’t think Colossals don’t need changes, especially not for Big Priest abusing Neptulon. The real problem is the ability to cheat him out early with Shadow essence and Illuminate.
Yeah both the recruiting and the rezzing coming with 2 arms seem very abusable. Removing the arms from the rez pool would be a sizeable buff but the appendages dying with the main body would be an even bigger nerf.
Make the arms contingent on manathirst then. If you can’t actually play Neptulon at face mana value, the arms aren’t summoned at all, netting you the naked 7/7 Nept if you mana cheat it out/legendary summon from deck it out. You could do this for all the abusable colossi.
That would be another way to do it, similar to the colossal keyword hiding a battlecry like I suggested. But in today’s Hearthstone Snap big minions are only played if cheated out early so that would probably require a bigger rebalancing of the entire game.
You’re misunderstanding the mechanic. It is not a battlecry, hence, it doesn’t need to be triggered by summoning from-hand. The colossal keyword works like if the minion hits the board, that minion summons its coinciding parts, whatever they may be.
This is true, while in duels if I resummon as the paladin the divine shield mech that dredges it will bring the tail section out too. But sometimes I’ll resummon only the tail section and thats all I get.
Colossals are fun and I hope to get more of them ij the future
I’d be more for turning colossi into a temporary Hero Card change. Imagine you go from say 30 HP as a Mage and Played a new Mage Colossus and you became a Godzilla enemy looking Kaiju like a 3 headed Mana Wyrm Ghidrah. 10 Armor, no HP, puts out like 3 3/9 mana wyrms that grow like a mana wyrm does with every spell cast. Enemy takes you down to 0 armor and the Colossus hero reverts back to normal Mage at the previous HP. If the Wyrms are still around so be it. But the Colossus cant be revived just like Jaraxxus couldnt be revived by similar means. Making it a one off per game. (No repeats from mage campiness where it recasts every spell it has played this game).
