Classic Hearthstone Packs

With the upcoming overhaul to Hearthstone’s card structure, will Card Packs that we are currently holding onto be affected in any way? More specifically, will we retain the packs that we’ve been rewarded (and haven’t opened yet) or will we lose any packs in our inventory once this major update takes place?

You’ll still have the packs.

The only difference is which cards you might still be interested in obtaining from those packs.

Once the shift to the Core set happens, Classic packs will start to offer cards that are currently in the Hall of Fame again, but will lose some of the replacement cards. So, depending on which group you’re more interested in, you can decide whether to open your packs before or after the shift.

Also, they mentioned in one of the announcements that they’re going to give everyone a golden Classic pack when the rotation happens to celebrate the opening of the new Classic Format.

Edit: The Golden pack bit is in the Year of the Gryphon announcement:

Yep this is the one.
