Chillin' Vol'jin can't target itself

I know it’s an old card at this point, but I just discovered it and played it expecting to swap stats between it and an enemy minion, yet was unable to target itself. Nothing about the card leads one to the conclusion that it is meant to work that way, so I figure it must be a bug…

This is not a bug.

“While many Battlecries affect the Battlecry minion itself, targeted Battlecries cannot choose to target the possessing minion.”

Battlecry minions cannot target themselves. Been that way since day one.

So there’s nothing official that states this should be the case? Wouldn’t that just mean it’s been a bug since day one and the community just accepted it as a feature and choose to put it in the wikis?

There are plenty of rules that aren’t “officially stated” anywhere.

There is no official rulebook as far as I’m aware.

Abusive Sargent has NEVER been able to target himself, so I’m assuming at this point it’s just how the game was always intended to be.

And there’s nothing official that states it shouldn’t be the case. That would mean it’s not a bug since day one.

Battlecries happen before the minion enters the battlefield. Therefor, a battlecry minion can’t target itself, because it’s not on the board to target. So, not a bug.

What is it lately with people refusing to accept mechanics that have been in play since the start?
