I have been out for some time so I have lost almost all my bonus stars. I guess I should be grateful that I am not fighting bots anymore, but I am in GOLD 5 and my ladder experience is as sweaty as it was at diamond. I will be back eventually thanks to the winstrike bonus, but holy molly I am off for a long journey it seems. I think I preffered the bots lol

I’ve been saying the MMR changes have been ridiculous. The only people who have benefited from it are Diamond hardstucks finally getting inflated to Legend (no offense to anyone who takes offense).
Beyond that, ranks have become obsolete, they’re just decorative trophies to stimulate you to keep playing. In reality, you’re playing against MMR numbers all . the . time.
Ranks are there for a reason. A good player should have the privilege to stomp on a rank below them and move upwards without needing to explain themselves. While they can still do that, the climb to a higher realm, such as Top Legend, has become impossible. If you’re good enough for Top Legend, you’ll start facing Top Legend players before you even reach it.
Previously, there was a way to “bypass” this. You just inflated your MMR through Rank matchmaking allowing you to get a higher ranking in Legend once you reached it.
If one thought before that the same people are always in Top Legend, it’s even worse now.

tbh I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make, if any.
Indeed, the past bot influx has made ranked a joke, people were completing the 12ranked wins in a row quest without any merit.
Even the Frog was making it to high Diamond, that alone was grounds to make this change.

They should revert the changes and put this as the patch note.
If you are matched against high mmr players,because you have a high internal mmr. Then you should not have to grind through gold and plat to get back to diamond.
Who ever thought of such a horrible idea,to make things as annoying as possible.
They chose the wrong solution. Keeping the low rank but matching with high lvl players. They should have just ditched the low rank instead.
Have those high mmr players ,who have proven to be diamond and legend worthy over and over , start at diamond,ditch the whole grind its such a dumb mechanic.
Dont punish good players for coming back after having some break from the game with a pointess and very annoying grind. How can this even be a point of discusssion for blizzard.

I may tell from my own experience with the new account (that has become my main now lol) - you’ll struggle only for the first month. With the reset you’ll get bigger star bonus and will be able to compete.
My road has been like this:
- First month, stuck at Gold 5+, being playing with actual legends (friended them to check)
- Second month - 8 bonus stars, got to the legend. Well, July is that second month so I’m getting at least 10 stars in August.
Quite easy so don’t overreact to that first month issue - they really gatekeep you but not for too long.

Was it before or after the MMR changes?
Immediately after the MMR changes. I was bored with stalled meta and wanted to try something new.
So I’ve created the new account and played all the way with Zarimi priest deck and just stopped for about a week when druids killed the game before the dragon ban has been applied.
