[Celestial Emissary] Spell Damage Battlecry not affecting certain spells?

Am playing an Elemental Mage deck a bit right now. And noticed, that with some spells the +2 Spell Damage battlecry does not affect some spells. For now I have noticed it with Arcane Missiles. I will keep this updated in case I see any more broken interactions.

Note that Celestial Emissary’s battlecry affects your next spell cast. This means if coin, Arcane Intellect or any spell that doesn’t get affected by spell dmg is played before (right after Celestial Emissary is played), you won’t get the spell dmg buff on your intended spell.

Coin > Celestial Emissary > Damage Spell :white_check_mark:
NOT
Celestial Emissary > Coin > Damage Spell :no_entry_sign:

I am aware of this, don’t you worry. It was Celestial Emissary > Arcane Missiles. And the Arcane Missiles only did 3 damage randomly, not the expected 5. From what I observed so far, as I was trying to recreate the problem, it might happen when you play Arcane Missiles before the animation of the Battlecry happens. Which is kind of… Strange to say the least.

I can confirm it works flawlessly with Arcane Explosion, Shooting Star, Blizzard, Fireball. No matter when you play the minion.

Are you sure? As in, were you able to recreate this? I just tested this and it still works without problem. Animation shouldn’t matter as it’s just computer work (as in it just checks Celestial Emissary being played first before AM).

I’m asking this because if you were able to recreate this, your report should be legit. If not, it might be that you played AM first before Celestial Emissary by playing quickly.
