Cards like Reska need a limit. 3 per game or something

As a DK player myself I’ll be the first to admit this freaking card has helped me more often than not but at the same time it needs a limit. DK Players being able to get it over and over and over and over and over again is absolutely ridiculous. Tell me I’m wrong. The thing with this game is there are a lot of fun mechanics to the game however the dev team suck at placing limitations on said mechanics causing things to easily be abused. I’m reminded of Yu-Gi-Oh. Certain cards you’re only allowed to have one per game and in the card’s text it specifies that card can’t be brought back, etc., etc. Blizzard will eventually have to do something similar to limit the amount of overwhelming cards that just keep reappearing effortlessly. Or at the very least, they’re gonna have to update their method of discovery. Maybe reduce the pool of legendary cards or something I don’t know. Maybe I’m overreacting. I don’t know. Just gets annoying seeing that card 50 times per game.

The card wouldnt be so egregious if it wasnt for the fact that most if the time it costs zero and if the excavate payoff went iff of what a minion costs when played rather than at the start of game cost

id like it better if it cost less, but only reduces when in hand. so when you get reskas off discover/horseman they cannot instantly win with a 0 mana reska, never mind the fact that NO cards that dont already cost 0 mana should be able to be reduced to 0 mana

Apparently the OP was never around to see a priest play seven soul mirrors in a game. DK replaying reska is tame in comparison to that. Still bad mind you, but there have been worse generations in the past. Sethekk Veilweaver and lackey shaman come to mind as well.

It isn’t 50, but you should be expecting it. It’s more punishing to some decks than others.

That could be cool. Could they “buff” the cost to 10 mana while they’re at it?

That’s not funny. Please don’t remind us of that card ever again. Card completely invalidated playing to the board when it was a meta player.

As for Reska there are also games where Reska does nothing to the opponent.

There is an easy solution to this. Just make it so that you can’t discover legendaries unless the cards specifically say discover a legendary.

I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world but if Molten Giant got a nerf and Reska is clearly stronger than Molten Giant (granted, Molten Giant isn’t a legendary but it also can’t be discovered), I’d say there’s at least some discussion that’s merited on whether or not Reska needs a mana cost adjustment.

If Reska got nerfed then I’d be fine with it. Bigger issues in the meta than Reska but Reska does win games it has no business winning.

Hmm, I wonder what the main issue is with Hearthstone. Any patterns emerging?

No card should be able to discover itself cough Aman’thul, Rheastraza, Gigantify Geist cough for an infinite value loop.

I think the most Aman’thuls I saw summoned from hand in a game vs Reno Priest was 8 (and then he threw down Raden and got a board of 7 more, when I instantly conceded).

I’ve been here for quite a while since like old gods expansion, but just because something was broken in the past doesn’t mean it should stay that way

Yes, agreed… the problem is not the card itself… but the amount they can use of it several ways… thats why don’t need to create such cards… or make them limited, no discovery, no reborn… no deathrattle spread… these are all bad mechanics which are making it allowed to be abused… The end is near… There is a Youtube video where the dev team or related to them is complaining about the players are not buying prepurchase bundles however the game has twice as more players than before… They can see that… THATS why players are not spending money on this game anymore… perfect example… need to make an end to this insane power level… beause the game is not so much fun anymore like it was before. Too many decks are killed by OP removers like Reno, Yogy, Reska, Priest and Warlock Titan, Boomboss… no need for such powerful removers in a game which has already too many board clears in it…

I just hate the way it’s designed, it’s really boring and scammy.

The 20 minion requirement is way too low, I think either it’s requirement should be way higher, or it should just be designed differently.

In general I think the game just has way way too many giant-type cards. There’s like 12 or something stupid.

Stitched Giant, Chained Guardian, Reska, Abyssal Bassist, Fye, Bouldering Buddy, Cultivation, Mantle Shaper, Living Horizon, Flickering Lighbot, Prismatic Beam, Sea Shanty, Thirsty Drifter, Sauna Regular, Snatch and Grab, Thing from Below*, Crash of Thunder*, Imprisoned Horror, Table Flip, Safety Goggles, Dread Corsair, Azerite Giant, Storm Giant*, Sea Giant, Seaside Giant, Mountain Giant*, Playhouse Giant, Molten Giant*.

These are all the cards that can discount themselves via their own effects, usually just by having played cards you’d be playing anyway.

That’s a HUGE number of cards that just get cheaper more or less because the game’s gone on for a certain amount of time.

(*= These ones are a bit more “fair” either because they require such an extreme situation or because they are situational, they’re not just accumulative)

If Reska’s effect was more like… “costs 1 less for every minion that died this turn” it’d be way more interesting to me. Make them cost like 14 mana or something.

Agreed, with how easy it is to flood board with tokens as DK and how powerful Reska is with rush / reborn when summoned by the Azerite Rat the 20 death limit (counting enemy minions as well) needs to be increased.

A 0 cost insta triggered Sylvanas is NOT healthy :expressionless: to play against let alone multiple copies of it thanks to Discoverstone
