I opened more than 40packs in a row and didn’t get a legendary.

Were they all from same expansion and rarity? Each pack type has separate pity timer.

i didnt had any issues with the pity timer (i writte down how many packs between legendaries )
i do it for the epics for the epic pity timer too because of the bug we had years ago

Since you did not say they were all the same type of pack, I’m going to assume they were different.
Each type of pack has its own separate pity timer.

How do you differentiate RNG giving you a legendary on your 40th pack, and the pity timer making sure you have a legendary on your 40th pack ?
Especially if you never reach the 40th pack ?
If I toss a coin 100 times and add the rule “you’re guaranteed at least one head every 20 flips”, how do you know when the rule applies if it never tells you it did ?
The only thing you can proove is when the rule doesn’t work if you exceed the announced limit

in the past when pity timer was hidden there was huge statistics tests run by community and the pity timer was proven with alot of data , later blizzard to accomplish with some country consumer rules announced itself and now are globally published on
and when it got bugged was found quite fast by the community so blizzard admitted the pity timer existed and compensated with dust to players who went more than 40 packs without a legendary

I have opened 36 packs (all same expansion) with no legendary drop yet. Either I am not so lucky… or something changed with pity timer.
The pity timer for legendaries is 40 packs.
36 is less than 40.

What about the first legendary guaranteed in the 10 first packs ?
He did not say those 36 packs were the only packs he had ever opened, so I assume they weren’t.
I have opened 4 more packs with no Legendary drop yet. Once more all of them where from the same expansion (The Great Dark Beyond) and all the same rarity. So now most probably I have reached 40 consecutive packs without any legendary drop. In order to be 100% sure about that I have reached 40 , is anyone anywhere where I can check that?
