I would like to report that with the new ‘Path to the Emerald Dream’ update in Hearthstone, cards from other expansions have disappeared from my collection. This isn’t the first time this has happened. Every time new expansions are released, cards from other expansions in my collection disappear. I’m currently very sure of what I’m saying because I’ve been using some of the affected cards in current decks. I also know this because I currently own the complete collection of most heroes and neutral cards. Every time this has happened, I’ve reacquired them on my own. I’ve had to do it this time too. Customer service can’t offer me any solution; they’ve asked me to report it here. It’s NOT FAIR that I have to pay to acquire cards I already own and they simply disappear for some technical reason that I’m obviously unaware of. It’s your business. I ask you to please fix it. I let it go before, but not this time. I’ve invested a lot of money in Hearthstone, precisely to have a complete collection of cards, but if you guys are randomly removing cards from my collection at your whim, WE REALLY HAVE A PROBLEM!!!
Along with the new expansion, a core rotation and a standard rotation dropped. It happens every year.
If you give me the name of the cards you are missing, I will give you a better and more thorough answer.
This might be helpful.
Just because you’ve been using a card, does not mean that you own it.
Do you know what the Core set is?
It is a large group of cards that Blizzard loans to everyone for free. These cards appear in your collection and you can use them in decks, but you do not own them.
Every year, the Core set changes. Blizzard removes some cards and adds others, to keep the Core set fresh and interesting.
So, if there are cards missing from your decks, that must mean they were Core cards that you were using as a loan from Blizzard. And then Blizzard took those loans back.
Hi, I usually play in Wild mode, I’m usually in Legend rank on a recurring basis. I’m talking about cards that can be disenchanted and also crafted, that is, they are cards that are part of the catalog and have nothing special. The cards you mention from the core set cannot be crafted or disenchanted. The cards I’m referring to, I have been able to recover by crafting them again, spending Arcane Dust from my pocket. Some were very expensive cards, like Epic and Legendary. This means I have to buy golden packs and then disenchant golden cards and get plenty of Arcane Dust to be able to recreate the cards that have literally been STOLEN from my collection. I’m sorry for expressing myself like this, but what I’m reporting is real. It’s happened to me on several occasions, and I’m a little tired. No one has compensated me for this. I just hope it doesn’t happen again in the future. Because it’s not fair. I’m a TOP customer, I’ve spent a lot of money collecting cards, and I don’t like them being STOLEN! Kind regards!!!
Of course. They are no longer in Core, so they may be crafted.
Nothing was stolen from your collection. Blizzard was loaning those cards to you, and they took back the loan.
Yes, the Core set is changed every year.
We asked you to provide specific examples of the cards you are missing, but you have not done that. Therefore I have to assume that you just want to rant, and aren’t interested in an actual logical answer.
Good day.
Core set cards have nothing special when browsing your collection, unless you really pay attention to the expansion watermark
You automatically have the core set in your collection.
You can build a deck with them without even knowing they are from the core set
Once a card is removed from the core set, its core version no longer exists in the game. Either it was part from a previous expansion, and that version of the card still exists and is craftable (as it also was while it had a version in the core set).
Example : Ysera
Or the card initially got introduced by the core set, and in that case a brand new Legacy card is added to the collection, and you can craft that version if you want to keep using the card.
Example : Onyxia the Broodmother
Hi Shuteye, now I understand the mechanics of what you’re saying about how the cards rotate. Okay, I get it. I didn’t mean to offend you. Let me tell you, you’re doing a good job. Hearthstone is a great video game. I hope you can understand my initial confusion, and that it may have raised reasonable doubts about the card issue. I apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you very much for explaining it to me properly. Best regards!
Hi Derkan, thanks for the input and the examples. You’ve helped clarify my doubts. I finally understand the dynamics of card rotation in the game. Best regards!
