Turns out trample on minions that can “cleave” doing 30 damage in one turn is utterly unfair. This team just can’t do anything right. There’s just so much broken crap the game is just no fun at all right now.
It’s wild to me that people are just starting to play this. The deck was solid last set too.
Like Jormungars, there’s always a bigger whine target.
Hunter got some surprisingly good handbuff cards that kind of flew under the radar this set, and yeah it feels like it put it over the top.
It’s the 2-drop that draws a beast and handbuffs. Makes it very consistent.
It’s better than alliance banner man, which ended up getting nerfed, because it was too strong.
Right at TITANS release Always a Bigger Jormungar wasn’t triggering off of the “cleave” mechanic. So I wrote off the card in an instant, despite hyping the heck out of it prior to release.
Apparently this was a bug, and at some point between then and now the “bug” was “fixed.” Works on cleaves now.
Edit: Buzzard also very good
The big was fixed by the set launch. It was only bugged for the theorycrafting streams.
It was always good. Turn 6 hope into turn 7 OTK with gargon was really easy to setup.
And it still is.
But yeah, buzzard is really a strong addition.
Although AaBJ had a different bug on launch where if it buffed a minion to 10 attack and hit an 8 health face, you only dealt 2 damage.
If you are right, then I was wrong. But I don’t think I’m the only one who would have been wrong. If you see something bugged on the theory crafting streams, that probably scares you away from actually trying it.
Yeah, that’s fair.
I got my last hundred or so hunter wins to 1k with that combo
I tried playing around this hunter deck and still got rekt.
Not seen much of it tho (not that I’ve played a ton, I got very unlucky with packs)
Playing minions should be a part of the game, any play pattern that actively punishes you for playing an entire type of card is just unhealthy for the game. This was the exact problem in stormwind where against mage and hunter quests it was just a competition to see who could empty their hand without playing any minions
Same cancer here, play minions = dead, don’t play minions = they can’t kill you is a toxic complete trash playpattern that should never be encouraged in a card game, at that point just remove minions from the game
the key is using taunts and locations to break the cleave effect. if you can’t be bothered with minion placement, then you get punished.
it not an exact comparison. the problem with stormwind is the quests were uncounterable, and inevitable. this effect can be played around. like i said above.
It’s not 1:1 but it’s the same spirit, whenever anything in the game makes you go ‘‘Hmm i can do SOMETHING, but just doing NOTHING instead actually makes me win, so i’ll do that’’
Not playing the game shouldn’t be prefered to playing it, ever. And anything encouraging you to just do nothing is bad for the game
Would you imagine this to be healthy in any other game? Oh yeah the best move for football is to not chase it and to not try and score, the best move in chess is to just pass turn after turn after turn and let your opponent move instead?
fair, it is frustrating gameplay. i was just pointing out you can play around it…to a certain extent. no counterplay is perfect.
Absolutely not. Actually, for any play pattern there should be another play pattern that actively punishes you for playing it. This is called a counter. You are expecting playing minions not to have a counter.
Read what i wrote and not what you want to read.
Non-minion decks that win by clearing minions are okay, provided they in turn have their own bad matchups. You’re just plain wrong.
The idea behind it is it pulls acidmaw and dreadscale, but sadly people are smart andmade it better.
