Card effects that copy spells that upgrade are inconsistent

All these interactions are tested with Gorgonzormu’s Delicious Cheese spell, but is also applicable to Schemes in Rise of Shadows. Some copy effects will reset the spell’s upgrade counter, but other copy effects will keep the upgrade timer.

The following copy effects will reset the upgrades:

  • Tidepool Pupil
  • Rewind

The following copy effects will not reset the upgrades:

  • Audio Splitter

These cards are worded in the same way and suggest that they should not reset the upgrade timer.

Similar wording but different mechanic
When creating a copy of a card that no longer exists, you always create a base copy of the card unless explicitely indicated otherwise
