Every time i favorite a hero to use it doesn’t switch to that hero, every time i switch to a new card back and favorite, it goes to the basic card back. I haven’t been able to use anything but the basic heroes and card back for about a month now. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didn’t work. If any one has feedback or the same problem let me know if you found a fix.
Have you tried both methods to set a hero?
- Setting the default (“favorite”) hero for a class.
Go to your collection, click on the hero portrait icon to open the list of portraits you own. For classes where you own multiple heroes, rightclick on one, then click on “Make Favorite”. After that, this portrait should be marked with the text “Favorite Classname” (so e.g. “Favorite Druid”, or “Favorite Mage”).
This setting affects all new decks you make in the future (except when you change it using method 2), and might or might no affect your existing decks depending on whether they have their own hero setting. - Setting a hero for a specific deck.
Go to your collection, then click on one specific deck to open it in the editor. Click on the hero portrait icon to open the list of portraits you own and that are available for the class of that deck (if you have only one hero, the icon is not shown at all). You’ll see the available hero portraits, including an indication which one is the favorite, and to the right you’ll see either a greyed out version of the favorite hero (meaning this deck always uses the default), or you see a normal portrait of one of the heroes (meaning this deck will always use that hero, and a change to the default hero has no effect).
You can left-click a hero portrait, and then that hero will be the hero for this deck. Later changes to the default hero will have no effect on this deck. But you can always return to the deck editor and change the chosen hero. However, there is no way to tell Hearthstone to forget your choice and just return to using the default hero again. (Other than deleting and then re-creating the deck).
And for card backs, the procedure is exactly the same.
If you followed these steps and it still doesn’t work, then I suggest opening a ticket with customer support and have them look into it.
