After hitting legend a week ago I have basically just been playing BGs and just doing quests. I played Ele mage and don’t want to play it anymore this month. I also played Quasar rogue and it wins, but it is as boring as can be. Is Asteroid Shaman actually fun? Only missing a couple cards for it and I have the dust. Just looking for something that feels interesting.
I’m currently testing the Rainbow Draenei Mage. I find it quite interesting. Feels different than the old archetype. And it looks great when the board is filled with Arkwing Pilots and the lasers go off.

to me it doesn’t look fun, but it looks strong
I’m playing spell dmg shaman with couple of asteroids being shuffled in, but not the full package, no incendius, no buffs, just pure aggro/tempo/burn deck and it’s A LOT of fun to me
It’s also strong (although not broken, despite what I wrote about it couple of times)
Playing the game shows a massive amount of reach from too many options. I’d wait for a balance patch that is surely to come. People are slinging over 20+ damage all the time, and I couldn’t recommend anything in the spirit of fun until stuff is addressed. After that, the game would have some cool options.
I think I know the deck you are talking about. Basically hyper aggressive and uses the 1/3 claw that gets extra attack from +SD right?
Yep, that’s the one!
EDIT: In case anyone’s interested, here’s the code:

To me it’s very fun because it fits my playstyle. It was very strong last few days due to many mages on the ladder, but I don’t see them anymore, so my winrate plummeted from 70% to 52% (plus I think I’m lowrolling, and the sample is low - 23 games so far)
So there you have it.
I saw exactly 1 of these on my climb and rolled it. So, can’t make any comments on it without playing it.
Lemme know what you think if you try it
I’m quite confused about the state of the game right now, so I have no idea what the deck’s true potential is, but I’m thinking if mage is broken and this counters it heavily, then it must be good
Quite possibly a menace once the patch rolls, eventually
I was doing well with the Sludge deck I showed you sitting at just over 60% WR. Going turn 4 Ethereal Oracle, Fracking, free cast 2 Barrels then get 3 cards feels so satisfying.
Ooh, yes, I completely forgot about it
What do you mean “was” doing well? It changed? Should I still try it or maybe wait for the patch?
Oh, I just mean I haven’t played any standard today. Those stats were from yesterday.
I’d watch some videos of deck gameplay to see what you like before spending dust.
I can’t seem to find your post with the deck. Could you link it to me, pls?
Also, turns out VS put this Spell dmg Shaman in tier 1 in top 1k, which is funny xD I did think it’s broken for a bit, and possibly it was in the week of the report (5-12), but I wouldn’t say it is anymore.

Also, it wouldn’t be in tier 1 if my formula for ranking was used which includes popularity. This deck is played way too little to justify being put in tier 1.
But you asked for a fun deck, and IMO it’s definitely fun.
EDIT: They also managed to put Pirate DH in tier 2, somehow xDD So, yeah, you know how accurate that tier list is xDD
This was the Sludge list I have been messing with a bit.

Asteroid Shaman is 100% a bait deck. It’s not very good unless you have a perfect curve draw.
Lol, it’s crazy how much VS report influences people’s expectations and winrates.
I haven’t got a single person insta-conceding against me in first 25 games before the report, and now I had 4 of them in the next 7 games xDD
It’s sad. People have to learn that VS report isn’t infallable, and it’s most often out-of-date, at least in these chaotic periods right after the expansion or the mini-set.
It’s mostly precise right before the mini-set and right before the patch before the next expansion, and even then it’s not omniscient.
I want to second this… Its a pretty fun underrated deck. I run a different variation without the paladin stuff but theres something satisfying about the arcwing turn and seeing all the lasers go pew pew.
Seems you enjoy uninteractive bs decks. Spell druid?
I have hit legend with every archetype. I do not prefer one over the other. Spell druid is pretty much solitaire like rogue right now.
It depends on the SKILL CAP you want to have. If you want something that is not absurdly difficult but still wins get maybe an evolve shaman since it’s under the radar in part so it’s unlikely to get nerfed.
If you want high skill cap get the Quasar rogue which will not be nerfed either easily because most players even in Legend play it very badly because it’s both very high APM and very multiple-choice.
You can also scam the system with easy to play overpowered decks like the ones DK and mages have, but expect nerfs (if the Devs have a resemblance of skill).
