As we all know, getting this quest done in ASIA is challenging. after adding a friend, they show up as Online, but their in game client status is not accurately shared. I made several screenshots showing clear errors and wrong game behaviour:

This one happens on mobile, when trying to chat to my new friend. I get the message “You are offline”, while clearly I am not. In fact I just played a game on ladder and conceded.

This one is also quite funny. “You can’t challenge hiramutsu right now. Return to the main menu.” Well where do you think I am? In the main menu.

This is how my new friend hiramutsu looks to me, and he claims also vice versa. When we chat via battle.net the game status “Hanging out in main menu” above is shared, but no challenge is possible.
Please Blizzard, help.

Same here, can Challenge friends added previously, but not new friends.
Edit: Was fine a few weeks ago, probably new bug from latest patch.

I found out that my previously added friends don’t work either, and I tried switching to the US server with my friend and found it to be working fine, so I think it’s might be a server bug

I can confirm , challenge a friend works on Americas and Europe, just not on Asia.

It’s true, hopefully Blizzard will fix this issue soon because it’s really annoying

I don’t know why battle.net is unable to connect players in the Asia region, there must be some technical reason.
Another update: I was able to challenge a friend in ASIA, but:
- only an existing friend
- both had to be on mobile
