Druid is truly game breaking.
First Class to reach this amount of Mana.
man the game is unplayable right now i get full countred all day wthell whatever i play i get 50/50 screwed by anomaly or the match up is unfavorable vs me all time. the game is completely broken shaman got only totem working which is bad because the balance is not there. it’s been 5 days i try hard to reach legend i get countered all day priest control is in 50 % of my games just what is this .?
i have 30 games vs priest control in 3 days just wth ?
It’s fair to note, warranted or not. Druid apparently went up from a 38% wr F in standard.
To one of the first uncounterable (over 50% ) meta tyrants in top 1k legend due to just yogg and the discovery of tony deck combos in standard.
The class is clearly desperate for a board clear, neutral or not, but the sheer surprise when jailer was removed and a previously struggling 38% wr class kept moving like a headless zombie when jailer got removed, but replacement 10 mana combos remained.
I myself play yogg, and enjoy playing him, the neutral hysteria feels like it fills up a lot of holes druid had. But sometimes even i wonder if putting BOTH mind control and hysteria on the SAME (often potentially) 0 mana card, might have been much.
Bonus points if that could be bounced/shadowstepped/7/5 rush dancered back 3-5 turns in a row or cloned.
Yogg is definitely a powerful card and tony is problematic, ditto with jailer tony too, but like i’m not some person to complain about everyone else’s deck and then justfiy broken for my own.
I’m usually not in a rush to light my own deck on fire either. But i am as surprised as anyone else that when the degenerated jailer tony combo got removed, that druid kept moving despite struggling so much before.
( I do have all the cards to play tony druid’s revamps or the og - anub from pack rng. But i just figured the deck had problematic playstyles that’d probably get nerfed. )
I’m not even sure how you’d go about nerfing yogg. Increasing the mana cost might restrict him to the most degenerate spell spamming decks, (when he's played quickly and cheaply for free, i feel he feels a lil offensive than 1 and done)
I suppose if you wanted to nerf one ability, i always felt 0 mana mind control might be a lil offending/ problematic.
Maybe you could try a DK style nerf where you take 2-4 dmg for the ability. Or the minion gains rush but dies at end of turn.
Alternatively, double casting the blossom spell and gaining 20 armor + 4 cards could be another nerf avenue as well. If you tone the armor down, it could tone anub too.
Maybe Yogg could stay at 15, but have text to fix his mana cost above 3-5. Maybe stating "Costs 1 less per spell, (Up to 10 mana discounts)
Bullet points
- Druid struggled in standard as a 38% wr class until Yogg/miniset. Then became briefly unstoppable.
- Is it perhaps aoe hungry, but perhaps TOO strong with premium aoe + ramp?
- Yogg is probably the most premium aoe/removal we’ve seen, for a bouncable 0 mana + mind control, no less.
- We knew last week that Odyn found few counters until Jail Druid.
- Everyone seemingly wants THEIR deck meta tyrant, but nobody else. What do you do? 11 people can’t all be #1 at once. Turn taking works, but nobody seems to want to be out the spotlight.
Tl;dr Try:
- Standard Druid seems to desperately want aoe to be good. But maybe 0 mana yogg is TOO good(?)
