Why does the Hunter class even have demon it beast class in WOW lore nothing with the demons? I mean hunter never had demon power or demon animal of my knowledge.
So why are cards like Imprisoned Felmaw or Demon Companion exist in the set?

In WoW, can’t you tame mechs and elementals, though? Albeit, they’re animal-like. I mean, it doesn’t seem so crazy to me.
Maybe Rexxar’s been hanging out with Illidan, getting himself some dirty habits.
I guess Demon hunter needed a dual class partner.
Hunter being picked up last, while all the cool ones are paired. And to finally make any sense, they team up with another hunter that just happens to hunt demons.
This makes sense in my mind.
Why can’t it make in yours?
I’m not saying it’s a problem but hearthstone says it on wow lore but it seems it oversteps the lore sometimes.
That’s sort of hearthstone’s thing.
The game has a much different tone than WoW and isn’t afraid to bend or outright ignore/invert lore when it suits itself.
That aside, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a class have something they shouldn’t.
That is what makes it fun but it’s just crazy hunter has a demon in it because it’s the first time notices this card was an actual demon.
More class bleed, which I hope someone will discuss in it’s own thread . The bleed has gotten totally stupid these days.
(both champions swigging Jogu’s finest mer-liqueur)
Illidan: “We’re Hunters too. We just hunt demons.”
Rexxar : “Get out.”
Also why does demon HUNTER ally with demons?
In the event some people actually don’t know: It is because Demon Hunters use the tools of their enemies to better defeat their enemies.
I was reading an article on the class. Is this correct? They slay demons and then use the demon’s energy in powering their weapons and magic (fel)? So, are minions like Illidari Inquisitor actually demon hunters of some sort?
Illidari Inquisitor would just be an Inquisitor demon that works for Illidan/the Illidari for one reason or another but would not be an actual demon hunter. Demon Hunters are demons themselves similar to Man’ari but they aren’t quite the same as Pit Lords or Succubi or anything like that.
Historically, Demon Hunters siphon Fel power in order to fight for Illidan and his Illidari army against the Burning Legion (which is made of demons).
Illidan and Malfurion were brothers of the Night Elves who were both in love with Tyrande, but she spurned him for Malfurion because he chose dirty, demonic power instead of the natural, purer magic of the Night Elves (represented by the Druid class in HS).
Illidan’s fall from grace also means that his Illidari seem to be consorting more freely with demons and other assorted goth outcasts of the Hearthstone world (naga, krokul, shivarra) in Outland themselves these days.
There seem to be more Demon Hunter-allied demons in Hearthstone than I remember Illidan’s faction actively consorting with, but I’m not sure if this is because the lore in the larger Warcraft universe works that way now or because, y’know, Hearthstone is a game about minions and DH, the Hearthstone class, needs minions.
Flawless logic, I’m convinced lol
Actually, they’re Night Elves who have chosen to accept Fel powers.
That being said, the most advanced Demon Hunters like Illidan can indeed use siphoned Fel to turn into a demon, at least temporarily, and shoot massive, destructive Fel-balls.
That’s what Metamorphosis is.
Yeah, that is true. I added the ‘like the man’ari’ rider because if they die it isn’t like when demons die. They don’t reform in the twisting nether and come back but they are essentially demons after their initiation.
Are warlocks able to turn into demons, too? I remember there used to be a spell to turn into a demon-like entity for a short duration during which its other spells dealt increased damage.
Metamorphosis used to be a Demonology Warlock spell before Demon Hunters existed in WoW, yeah. It isn’t something they traditionally do though.
Metamorphosis predates WoW, though.
It is the original Level 6 ultimate skill from the Demon Hunter hero in Warcraft 3, and as such is as old as a gameplay concept in Warcraft as the Night Elves themselves.
