I checked out the wiki on trinkets and they mention how some heroes always have access to certain trinkets. Well they only give one example of it but dont actually show them listed out nor does any hero list their always offered trinkets on their hero pages. I know it’d be unofficial but can we get a listing by each hero to reference just for the info? I saw how they can filter the trinkets by tribe pools which is somewhat helpful info to know, but it’d be more helpful to know what any given hero is gonna be offered and know it will take up one of the slots available to choose from. might make picking a hero easier or at least know more going in.

I know the Naga lady hero always get access to the naga themed powers even if the board and hand contain 0 naga. Thats the example the wiki gives. I can recall her name at the moment tho. Lady Vash? I know I butchered the spelling.
Pretty sure Ysera would always be offered a Dragon themed one but IDK for sure.
Yet just 30 minutes ago i was playing Queen Azshara and had a solid Crooner build going with a board full of Nagas. Yet i never once got offered the Naga portraits to help this build. Meanwhile the guy playing Deathwing had them both. I think the only thing having specific minions and heroes does is increase your chances to maybe get specific trinkets.
I recently played an Early demon build and on the first trinket it offers me the Automaton Portrait with a board full of demons. The only reason i can think it offered me this is because the Tavern had an Automaton in it i could buy. Makes no sense at times.
My tin-foil-hat theory is they butchered the code behind the selection logic due to lack of proper QA testing.
Like, they clearly can’t use crude / inefficient methods like nested If’s or even cascading switch to determine trinket choices. You’d be loading params for days. So they tried to be fancy but they mucked it up somehow. And then because they didn’t properly test all interactions, or even SOME of them tbh, we get crap like you said where “oh, you had one single Automaton still available for purchase? Lemme just assume you want to go balls-in on mech”
I dont think you are guaranteed the portraits specifically, just the Naga Pool for that hero.

Edit: weird, I was able to imbed the image of the Whizbang card earlier in another thread no issues, but when i attempt to embed any of the trinkets images from the same card library, it says I cant have links in my posts… so strange.
Well i didn’t get one of those options. I instead got some generics but 2 of them were at a reduced cost because i didn’t get one specifically tied to my board(Which FYI can happen). When you don’t get those portrait Trinkets it’s a big deal though. Even if they are 6 cost and you get yours for zero the immense amount of power they give to your build are ALWAYS worth spending the gold. They could make them cost as much as you would generally have available in gold for that whole turn and you would still be better off buying them.
I was stuck at 10.8-11K for a while and just decided to stop trying for trinkets. I built my standard boards and just took the good enough options offered to me. Every so often i would get an interesting combo but not often. Delaying to get 2 greater when you can seems to be the best options at this point unless you get the good combos.
