I play Reno because it’s the only way to stop some things. In the case of starships, it feels bad to have them wiped out by Reno but it also feels bad having someone launch a starship and yodel it.
Things are going to get very interesting when titans and some of the other power cards rotate out.

What bad homebrew players like and what is competitive are not the same. The fact that people play bad decks doesn’t invalidate the criticisms of highlander.
Never mind that commander is a casual alternative to the normal play, which invalidates your comparison.
Yes, you can either use him in your deck, or not use him.

These devs don’t care about balance or have the mental capacity to even attempt to balance. They are only capable of vomiting out OP power creep expansion after expansion. Nothing will change while they are here.

You know what else is useless? Health, board, cards, value, minions, spells, removal.
Asteroids dealing 400 damage
Quasar rogue dealing as much as they want whenever they want.
Ele mage. Board deck which also otk and clear your crap for free.
Odyn warrior doing infinite damage.
Reno? Yeah thats adorable. Even if you get to play it guess what? You died.

To be fair the Starships aren’t either so we really have a case of me don’t caring enough.

You have this gigantic minion with usually a Dr or spellburst effect that Will be the wincondition of the deck or exodar using It for a ridiculous amount of armor.
While i understand that atleast Starships are New. I don’t see the point of wanting then to be viable that bad.
People should ask to help for draenei decks instead.

It doesnt only wipe your alive minions but everything and not only that guess what next turn you can spawn only 1 minion. That seems fair I guess.

Reno is frustrating for starships but you make a great point. A lot of people are so greedy they dont get good value by launching on turn 7 or 8.
Either that or they overextend and pray reno isnt in hand then get mad when it is when they didnt need to all-in
Quit being greedy and play starship on turn 8 or launch it for 5 mana. You keep trying to build something way too big and if you pay attention at all you’ll see a deck playing no dups.
hunter starship with yodeler can be quite scary and even before that just by having it out you prevent your5 oppoennt from playing any titans
well they can play them and lose them (proving too many HS players dont read cards lol)

Reno is ran in 10% of decks. It’s been nerfed twice. Not really sure why we trying to kill it completely. Highlander decks are some of the most fun decks ever made. There’s over a hundred cards with higher deck win rates than it…

It was much more higher than 10%… it was rather about 60% before the stupid OTK decks came and when they removed the only counter of Reno… yeah… nice nerf… It was nerfed 2 times in the wrong way… Reno had his time, need to throw it into the trash can… But Remover Titans, Reska and Boomboss were also too problematic and managed to kill the game for the year basically… Not even sure if it will be nerfed the right way finally at all… So let’s wait for the patch.
If you are a rogue, you likely only have two pieces in your starship by that point, since you have to pay 1-2 extra mana for each piece.
Still, it is a good point. Especially true is early launches with the Exodar + get pieces back in hand option, which really makes it less painful to get reno’d
I like playing Reno and I hate reno being played against me so I dunno about it lol. I hope the nerfs don’t completely kill the card.
thats why im expecting people to complain about starships soon
we had people complaining about how plagues made "HL decks unplayable " so blizzard listened and made it so plagues cant counter HL decks anymore
now they claim starships are unplayable because of reno
so blizzard is nerfing reno to prevent starships from being countered …
Reno is deleted in next expac anyway. Time for those Devs to think of ways to replace it, they can use the training.

they could give priest a spell version of amathul effect
or a random removal for mage like devolve but instead of devolving the missiles poof their targets out of the board
removing targets with another mechanic besides bouncing and destroying is a common one in card games this game could use some

Reno was too cheap to prepare though (0 cost to “work to prepare”). You basically had to have a deck of singulars and then survive until you have the mana for it.
I think it was related to how expensive it was to make most of the decks of Badlands (they were usually Reno decks and they sold a lot of packs).
Most Reno decks were filled with legendaries without much synergy between them and a lot of RNG. It was an arms race of random high value.
yep thats the downside on top of that reno isnt a win condition so we had to build one with only 1 copy of each card
