Can we all agree Book of Heroes sucks compared to old adventures?

The decks suck, the progression suck, the storytelling specially suck in all of them because you never understand why is happening, just that it happened like that “Oh random stranger, you died because… something… I will change my way of life and make my ultimate goal to… (Rexxard looks confused by reading the script) Deliver this message?”

And now the last book is just so… stupid. I liked Garrosh but now I feel like the story was just so bad. Why is he stabbing his grandmother if he just want to go away and why is that Thrall high fives him for that and gives him a prize?
What sort of Epic grandmother she was that Garrosh was left as head of the Horde when nothing about his character could be interpreted as trustworthy?

Yeah, and the rewards… omg. The rewards sucks so much. A bad pack for the most boring matches I have ever seen? And you literally don’t know what’s gonna happen because they rely so much on your random match hero power or mechanics you don’t understand until you have already played for at least a turn.

I don’t know man, if we have to chose between adventures or mini sets… I think I rather get good adventures than this crappy “5 expansion long” mini bore-fest we are getting.

Better than Dungeon Runs, but with the exception of those (or DH Heroic because of the Standard-only restriction), they’re indeed the worst.

No idea why they chose the Dungeon Run format for these, when the old Adventure format where you select each individual boss would only work better.

If you want to play one of the bosses again, which I don’t even know why you would since they aren’t great, you have to play the bosses again in order.

Showing the 10 heroes’ backstories sounds fine on paper, but Hearthstone is not the best vehicle for showcasing complex narratives like Warcraft’s.

It’s hard to care about anything when the context is so minimal and the gameplay isn’t as fun compared to solo adventures before it.

Book of Heroes might be the worst solo adventure mode to date. Though Rumble Run still makes me want to die inside.

It’s all been downhill since Puzzle Labs, really.

Who would have thought a story line in a virtual card game would be bad.

I mean, I feel they could have put a lot more effort into the skins. I find the skins are pretty weak considering the amazing details they are able to apply to cards, and other skins.

I did like the old adventures a lot. They were fun, so yes, they are not as fun as those adventures were. I really enjoyed when you would beat a boss and then emblem would flip over like a coin.

However, as much as I do find those things lacking in the Book of Heroes, I do find the story telling interesting. I do think they did a good job with the story lines for each character so far.

I, for one, appreciate the Book of Heroes even if they aren’t all winners. There’s a free pack attached, which means when new players start the game they have an opportunity to get some cards simply by going through the storyline.

When I joined Hearthstone, I had no idea of anything related to Warcraft, so seeing the game interacting with different characters makes it a bit interesting than having no context. These book of heroes, while probably a very much abridged version telling a one sided story, is still not too bad to play with and adds flavor to the characters you choose.

Don’t take everything literally presented in the game as what it is; it’s obvious that he’s not killing his grandmother nor was Jaina killing her old master. It’s just a matter of a metaphor being translated as best as it can in the form of this card game.

Yes. The book sucks.

I strongly disagree that dungeon runs were bad. For me, it was the only repeatable adventure content we’ve ever had. I played it a ton even after I had everything unlocked just because I found it so enjoyable and completely different from the rest of the linear, constructed game modes.

This trend of non-replability continues with the book of heroes. I have zero drive to even complete them let alone play them again.

This right here. My classes are all atax level because of how many times I did the runs. Well… Except for DH because there are no runs for him. There was a long time when constructed bored me to years and I only ever played thw runs.

It does, its a waste of time.

You didn’t like Dalaran Heist or Tombs of Terror?

Granted the latter’s difficulty was annoying, but otherwise I thought they were a return to form for solo adventures with a lot of effort put into them.

I’m typically not real big on PvE content in HS, so these more bite-size stories are neat IMO, if fairly forgettable.

I actually liked them both better than previous dungeon runs (and cleared both on Heroic too), but the puzzles were still the most fun solo content for me. Even if they had zero replay value.

Tombs of Terror may be my favorite, because the final boss can be whittled down over several runs, maybe with the exception of Chapter 5.

I’m not sure how Gul’dan will fit in a Book of Heroes. That was a mean old orc. Plus, the voice actor for Gul’dan’s Winter Veil greeting doesn’t sound right. I hope they get a better English actor for his Book, or the original voice actor for him.

I think many people take for granted that players have a clue about WoW storylines. When this game was released that may have been a fair assumption, but it’s very likely that people picking up HS don’t even know it’s connection to WoW.

It was “Heroes of Warcraft” when it came out, but has since moved past that constraint as WoW has become less popular.

So while I am utterly bored to death by the lore piece, others might find be actually learning something about the connections between the various class heroes and other cards.

I like the Book of Heroes only for the nod to the original stories that I already experienced in the earlier Warcraft games, but like I said in a previous post, I don’t know how many times Blizzard expects their long time fans to play through different formatted versions of the same stories.

Dungeon runs were fun and somewhat replayable.

These things are pretty simple and boring.

Not a huge fan
