If the theme is cards that feel horrible to play against, Boom boss should be definitely looked at. It’s a zero risk, zero set-up (other than laying down Brann first) combo, that deletes half the opponent’s deck. No warrior runs it without Brann, so the card needs to be reworked in order to compensate for that. It’s the worst feeling being left with no hand, no board, and no deck. The card would still be insane if it only deleted from one of the three mentioned groups. The bare minimum your hand should not be affected so there’s SOME counter play.
It’s the worst card I think. Worse than the Zilliax spam and everything else that feels OP.
it suuuuucks having a long game of decisions only to lose at the end because literally all your cards get deleted soon or often right after they play it.
Easy fix, change the battlecry to “Once per game”, so, no abuse from Brann or for priests when get many copies of them.
Losing to Brann warriors means your trying to play a non aggro deck…
Easy solution.
Believe it or not it doesn’t have to feel absolutely dreadful when you get countered. Trying to defend yourself from aggro as ramp druid is actually interactive, and sometimes when things align you can beat a bad matchup. There’s ZERO counter to boomboss you have to eat the fact that youre going to lose half your deck no matter what, it doesnt feel good whatsoever.
You prove his point. A card that FORCES you to play aggro IS a problem.
They only consider OP garbage, RNG, obscene card draw, and how much money they can milk from whales.
Zero risk? It’s an 8 mana card in a deck with an extremely high mana curve.
its a card that really needs a once per game on it
losing 9 cards sucks
losing your entire deck, hand and field is terrible
I kinda… accidentally found an answer while using replicator-inator and jepto joymancer in the headless handbuff deck. TNT can’t blow up if your hand is full when you draw it, it just fizzles. I ain’t one to recommend coldlight oracle and other draw utilities to overstuff your hand but… maybe just this once?
That tactic is unsustainable in the long run, because how many games can you afford to keep milling your bottom cards to not get milled by the bombs?
Usually you need that one card draw to win and you never know which card is safe
Ah but I have the mind of a warlock, what’s a few spilled cards if everything I keep adding to my hand is just as useful or better than what’s left in the deck. It’s a gluttonous way of thinking, but until I run into pirate boys wearing paragliders it has yet to backfire on me.
I think that a better solution than forcing the battlecry to once per game is to let TNT destroy itself. The fact that it actively targets non-TNT cards is the biggest problem to me, because combined with the Cast When Drawn (and the fact that it will usually come when a deck has been somewhat thinned out, increasing the proportion of 6 TNTs in the deck), it effectively feels like the card destroyed from deck is also cast when drawn. TNT chains are such a bad feeling, worse than Tickatus for me.
If TNT was able to destroy itself then it could at least add some variance of what gets destroyed, and it then adds (a little) jeopardy for the warrior because if if they leave it too late the TNT may not actually destroy everything it’s meant to.
(Also, since when was TNT (from an ogre) not capable of being exploded? I know it’s a fantasy card game, but still)
i had nearly forgotten people are scared of going up against Boomerboss
No it isn’t. Because when you say “force” what you actually mean is “encourages,” and a scissors card that encourages people to play rock isn’t problematic, it’s natural.
