Burndown. You are kidding?

Is this card supposed to be good?
Maybe I just don’t know how to play it properly, but can you even get value from this thing before turn 6 in most mage decks?
I am genuinely asking.
Because the more I play the card, the more I think it is just another example of how much team 5 dislikes mage players.

Perhaps as a discover card… but as a card you put in your deck its probably not worthwhile… but the ‘draw with drawbacks’ isn’t specific to mage. See that one shaman card that draws 2 but you cant play them for 2 turns… or the warlock draw/tutor card that makes it temporary.

Still it makes little sense compared to the defensive card draw that DK/Warrior gets or the offensively defensive card draw of something like DH with their wildseed thing. But thats just how the game rolls.

I think it’s bad too. Grove is better, and I wouldn’t call it good either.
Paladin has miles better draw than this at three mana in wild.

i guess it depends on your mana curve
3 turns is enough time to play anything you draw with it unless your mana curve has too many high mana cards

so, my problem is that even in imbue, which is probably the fastest thing mage has in wild that I know of, if you play it on turn 3, and lets say you draw wisprider, reckless, and singalong. You are wasting a win con early, or you are burning something, unless I am playing wrong, and don’t know it.
Seems to me all of mage’s draw has some caveat that makes it bad, given the cost of mage’s cards these days. I mean, if imbue mage had a bunch of 1 cost cards then it would be awesome, but that isn’t the reality. Maybe I should try a deck with all 1 or two cost cards and this thing.

isn’t your problem that you spend your turn 3 only to draw cards while playing a grind deck in wild ?
From what I understand to wild, you either build a strong board fast, or draw fast to reach an absolute wincondition
If you instead waste your early game to draw instead of building your wincondition, well yeah it sounds weak
If you want to run that card then maybe you also need to run Hot Steak which also works with the grove and wildfire

i like smoldering grove for early card draw more i keep it on mulligan usually dont wait until "draw 3 "

for me drawing 2 card for 2 mana is good enough

I’ll try that instead, B. Tysvm:)
Edit:
Wanted to thank you for the grove idea. It’s faster, and even though other classes can draw 2 for zero, it is a real improvement over burndown.
Appreciate the guidance.
